The Next Head Coach

Mr. Scot

If he's hired and/or Luck is drafted, expect "Chuck Norris" type threads to spring up almost immediately.
probably end up seeing jack bauer threads. he joked around about changing his name to jim harbauer and one time sent out these couple tweets...

, I had a Jack Bauer moment. I had to save the President, and I alone could recognize the assassin. In cold-blood…

, armed only with my ballpoint pen. At that moment, I was awakened by a phone call from one of our favorite dads*.

I know it takes more then one player to make a team good. But if Russ grimm became our head coach, he better hope he can get Luck at QB.If he dont its going to be a pretty hard season. It could also mess up his coaching chances if it dont work out in Carolina.I think Harbaugh is the guy for the job, but the odds just got good with the clinch of the first pick. So maybe after the game monday night we strat hearing about what might happpen or what might not.

Whomever the coach is needs to be good at judging talent because Hurney is poor at it.

They need to be able to motivate younger players because mostly what they are inheriting is a very young team.

They need to change the offense and defense in order to instill some confidence. Doing the same things that Fox did will only breed familiarity...losing.

They have to come from a winning program or have been a part of a team that has a history of winning in order to teach the younger players here how to win.

They need to be energetic and friendly in order to excite the fanbase.

They will have to be a Christian with high morals and good ethics in order to please the owner and the president.

Seems to me that there are very few coaches out there that fit all of these criteria.

Jim Harbaugh is one of those coaches.

So is Mike Zimmer.

What I dont like is trading picks in other rounds to get guys in that round again. We could have easily waited until the 5th or 6th round to get Edwards, and with a losing season, it makes it all the worse. The worst part about it though was that we traded with the Patriots to do it. The 2010 draft does not look good for us because we were/are young as a whole team. What I really think will help will be getting a few quality free agents. I would like to see Marshall stay too, based on the article on the charlotte observer that I read. He knows hes not getting a mega payday. I really want to see a few vet OL/DL brought in and a CB. I am not of the mind that Gamble and Williams will be gone. I think they will both be here, because they are a part of that young/youngish nucleus that Marty speaks of. I like Hurney, but I wish he would stay put in most drafts or find a way to aquire more picks, not trade future picks away for getting "stars" a year early. Its gonna hurt us this year. What I would do is I would trade Goodson and Clausen this year for 2-3rd round picks.
