You know what? Don't start Armanti. I'm a big fan of his, but let's face it, what the heck are these numbnuts going to do with him?

Between Davidson and Fox, they haven't got anything in their game plan besides four screen passes, one over the middle route, three throws out of bounds and about eighty draw plays drawn up. We've seen all the plays they have in the books for the "Mountaineer Package."

Maybe next year someone will give him a shot and make use of him. Until then, he's the kid that Hurney wanted and that Fox says ain't his. Poor guy, he really should have been given a real chance somewhere in the league.

Divorces like the Hurney/Fox one are bad news, it's all "that's mine, that's yours" and the kids (and fans) end up paying.

The wildcat is a form of the single wing formation. It can be classified as an option since in it's loosest form the option allows you to pitch the ball, run it yourself or throw it. All available under the wildcat. The reason the wildcat isn't synonomous with the option is that the wildcat is an offensive formation while the option is an offense and offensive philosophy. But option teams will often run the wildcat as one of their formations.

As for weinke looking as bad as Clausen- In the 2 games before we ran the Wildcat with Williams, Weinke was the following:

Against the Giants he went -34 for 61 for 423 yards and 1TD, 3 Ints.

Against Pittsburgh he went- 18 for 28 for 170 yards, 0 Tds and 1 Int.

Compare that to Clausen's last 2 games:

Against Seattle- he went 18 for 34 for 169 0 Tds and 1 Int

Against Atlanta he went 14 for 24 for 107 yards, 0 Tds and 1 Int.

Seems to me the Wildcat should be in full force this week based on Clausen's numbers.

Fox adjusted the playbook in the NYG game to a more WC-style offense, whereas he has done nothing of the sort for Clausen. But while we're at it, I see similar stats between the two.

I mean really, at this point why not. Its not like the passing game could get any worse and at the very least AE would lose less yard on sacks.

So I say yes, start AE.

Armanti is 5' 11" 187lbs. And you want him to absorb blindside hits from 300lb linemen?

Don't even blur the focus on the Panthers QB situation. Start Brian St. Thomas or St. Augustine or St. Christopher or whatever the hell his name is but know next year the focus is on Andrew Luck. And maybe, just maybe a QB with the skills Luck posseses can make Armanti Edwards relevenat on game day as a wide receiver.

No you don't just adjust your offense from one style to the other- Erhardt-Perkins style to West Coast on a weekly basis. If what you mean is that they went to more of a passing attack to take advantage of the Giants defensive tendencies and what the Giants were giving up, that is no different than every week. The difference is that Weinke could make the throws and moved the ball while Clausen is awful and can't even make the simplest throws at this point. He is even afraid to step up in the pocket and wait for a receiver to come open. He runs laterally right into the sack just like Carr did. I told all of you that he was David Carr lite a month or two ago and got tons of crap from Clausen nuthuggers like you. I was right about the Panthers and Richardson and right about Clausen. The only reason Clausen hasn't been ridden out of town like Carr was, is that Clausen is a rookie and folks hold out hope he can change. Some things you can't change and fear of making mistakes doomed Carr and will doom Clausen.

Not sure how this board went from disappointed and angry to nonsensical and delirious in one season but it looks like it has.

Step back from the ledge my friends. This reminds me of that poor sap at the blackjack table that starts doubling and tripling their bets when they are clearly getting owned by the dealer.

"Well it can't hurt" is not a logic that drives decision-making in the NFL. It's true that playing AE under center more will not change the outcome of this season. And yes it is painfully apparent that nobody cares if we win or lose anymore in 2010 and are open to almost anything for the mere sake of amusement. But if it cannot help, why do something stupid?

I like the kid and think he can do well one day. So I don't want to risk any of his potential by throwing him to the wolves right now just because the majority of the peanut gallery needs more blood to be entertained.
