The question is what is he worth, and he is definitely worth a 1st and 2nd.

What we will get may be totally different, you would be totally foolish if you don't think that 25 or so other teams aren't seriously considering looking at him.

I bet Gross makes himself the highest paid o lineman in the league this year, so that we can franchise Pep, and trade him.

Hurney will have to break the bank to get the Gross deal done in time.......

IMO we will either see him walk for nothing...and all of us will freak, or we get a 1 and a 4.

According to Gross himself, money wasn't the issue last year, they were very close. Of course, there's gonna be more this year due to the circumstances, but it should be negotiable. The problem is what was the issue last year and will the Panthers concede? I don't think they are in too good a bargaining position...

Last season they were trying to pay him as a RT, after a stellar year at LT the price goes up....

Toss in Peppers and Gross knowing that they can't use the franchise tag on him again......price goes up

All Pro nomination....up goes the price

Etc...

because 17 million is a hell of a lot for anybody, and that could definatley play a role

Sure. Players get traded all the time and work out new deals. Kris Jenkins is a perfect example.
