Hurney was offered an extension before the season started which he didn't sign. I don't know if he has signed it yet or not. But JR knows the 1-15 is hanging on his head and he created it so I really doubt that Hurney would go anywhere given he is not the main reason we suck so badly.

Heres the scenerio. Since they like Clausen. Carolina gets the #1 trades with buffalo, gets the #4 or #5 pick, and Buffalos 2nd. Buffalo is so hard up for a qb and since Luck is a sure thing, I can see them doing it. Or hell if I am carolina, pick luck with the #1, and then trade him to the highest bidder.

Hurney was Director of Player Operations and Jack Bushofsky was Director of Pro Personnel after Bill Polian left the team. When Seifert was hired, Richardson combined the two jobs back into a GM role that Seifert took along with head coach.

Hurney was with the Chargers in 1997. He didn't join the Panthers until 1998, and only as the salary cap manager. He wasn't promoted to GM until 2002.
