Haven't heard that Herm Edwards has a new job yet. He said he wants to go back to being a secondary coach. He has ties with both Meeks and Fox.

We could still end up getting Herm.

I think he'd be a great db coach, and it would also be an ideal situation for him before returning to a coordinator or head coach position in the future.

At the very least, I hope the Rooney Rule gets him an interview.

As far as big names go, that would be exciting to have on one side of the ball. If it were to happen let's hope those names create a good defense.

I don't give a damn about big names. Just knows Herm Edwards was best coaching the defensive secondary. He has ties to both our HC, and our new DC.

The possibility is there.

I think that Fox probably talked to Edwards on Meeks, so if fox wants him here to coach the Secondary he knows it.

According the Bucs Message board, one Buc fan said that there was a rumor that Meeks wants Edwards as his DB coach.... But again, this is coming from a Bucs fan:D

Having a secondary coach that could instruct our DBs on the proper positioning for a cover 2 would be the best thing for us right now. If we hire Edwards then I expect our DBs and LBs to be very very good next year...Our DL could be a different story but right now it doesn't look like the DL is going to be very promising anyways so I'll take what I can get.

Adam Schefter is saying Herm will be in TV during the '09 season

Edwards is not expected to coach anywhere in 2009. He is expected to end up at some TV network, analyzing football instead of coaching it.

I dont see anyone coming in here, and putting their own defensive gameplan in. JF wants his style of defense. I dont blame him, but I dont like it either.

Yeah.....and Schefter's opinion carries about as much weight right now as mine. There's only one person who know's for sure what Herm Edward's is going to do.
