So, it has apparently taken me this long to realize that I have this problem...

Tell us how you did today.

I had 2 slices of Whitewheat toast with honey, and 2 pieces of bacon for breakfast...

An apple, and a plain blueberry bagel for lunch...

I made crispy tacos for supper (to get rid of some ground beef in the fridge), and ate 3 of those, barely filled with the beef, some lowfat shredded cheese, and some fat free sour cream...

In comparison, my normal day would look something like:

a biscuit of some sort (usually bacon), and tater tots with gravy from the snack bar next to my workplace for breakfast...

a baked potato with bacon, cheese, and sour cream for lunch, chased with a bag of chips from the snack machine and possibly a candy bar of some sort before I leave work for the day...

some sort of fast food for supper... take for instance my (old) typical order from Zaxby's... 2 large fries, 5 chicken fingers, and a basket of Texas toast...

Just typing all that out makes me see what bad habits I was in... lol

I still ate kind of wrong yesterday, but as you can see it is 10000x better than my norm...

It will take a while to filter out all the bad stuff in moderation from the house (again, I don't want to just throw it away), but once I do we are going to the grocery store and shopping mainly on the edges like you suggested...

This weekend will be when I tackle setting up cleaning up the upstairs home gym, and I plan to be hitting that pretty hard at least 3 times a week at first, and moving to a daily routine...

Not bad for a newbie! It shows you're trying. Don't forget to eat if you're hungry. Food doesn't have to taste like crap, try something different if you don't like something.

A man of your size should have a good amount of calories. I don't know your stats but if you're lightly active 30 year old man, 6' and 250 lbs you should be getting about 2929 calories just to maintain your weight. So if you eat anything less than that you should be losing weight, I think the goal is to drop 500 calories a day so you should be eating about 2429 cals/day.

I used this calculator if you're wondering..
