Yas: Clausen here to stay, maybe no Luck

Here's the conversation that should take place if we get the number one pick and Luck comes out:

JR:Sit Down

MH:Okay.

JR: So who are you taking with the first overall pick in the draft?

MH: We'll were gonna consider our options...

JR: You're fired. Get the fug out of my office.

If the answer does not begin with Andrew and end with Luck. Then Hurney should be fired. It is not a matter of debate but one of acceptance.

Laughs my azz off!!! Now that was some funny stuff but also the way JR should approach Hurney at draft time. :)

Why the hell would you need to play that game when you are the 1st one picking?

We're not guaranteed to be the first one picking, at least not yet.

But even if we were, let's say we get a new QB. Wouldn't you like to keep your options open for what you do with your old one?

In all honestly, a new coach next season with a 100% new QB roster wouldn't be that bad of a thing.

I haven't totally closed the door yet on Clausen here in Carolina....but it could shut in the next 3 games.

Yas is just being Yas

I thought its pretty funny he's paid to keep up with the NFCS when Tony Kornheiser today on PTI (who doesn't even have to think about the Panthers) knew what's going on better than Pat.

In a nutshell Kornheiser went like this: All I know is that Carolina's entire staff will be gone & Steve Smith is clearly having trouble with the kid. (He also chuckled a few times about pickles)...followed by: The new coach would be stupid not to pick Luck & Clausen likely won't start for us again after this year. Period.

That took him under a minute on PTI to sum up our situation better than Yas could all year...thus proving what we already know: Sports writers are dumb ass sh*t

He also added if Luck isn't there you get Cam.

I hate to go this far, but passing on a guy like Luck for the likes of Clausen is enough to make me finally give up on this team. I've been a Panthers fan since their very first game, but a move like that could possibly push me over the edge.

Passing on guys with "Manning potential" can take a long, long time to overcome.

well, that is simple. Fox and Hurney have always been viewed as a package deal. Goodbye Hurney.

Jerry ain't dumb. If he goes into next year w/ Clausen being the guy.......that will hurt his pocketbook. Fans would be dumb to continue to pump money into a franchise doing that kind of stuff.

With 90% of the stadium covered by PSLs, a sweet TV deal and a new collective bargaining agreement that will favor the owners, I don't think Jerry is too worried about money.
