I am sorry for this comment, but you are a retard if you think Luck is not coming out.

You do not go back to school when you are gonna be number one overall. Locker was the last retard to make this mistake. He lost himself roughly 40 million dollars.

And dont give me lock out crap, there is not going to be a lockout. All this talk is just that talk and posturing.

If we get the number one pick, we get Luck. But I know you people are just going to continue to stir the "Luck staying" pot, but I am not buying it. And if someone wants to set up a paypal bet, I would love to take your money.

dude your tripping Luck has no reason to declare til the CBA is worked out...he is not going to get paid otherwise.....also in 98' the nba said there was not going to be a lock out....right up til the freaking lock out...so how about we play wait and see before you start calling people retarded

If you think I am wrong then bet me.

If there is a lock-out, which there wont be, he will still get payed when the CBA is figured out. He is still be the number 1 pick and he will still get paid like it.

Or, he could risk it all, play at Stanford and take the risk of not being the number 1 pick.

Just because something COULD happen doesn't mean its likely. I wouldnt honestly say there is a 5% chance of a lockout, and a 2% chance that it would leak into the season.

And the NFL is not the NBA.

1) The idea that Fox/Hurney/JR "ruined" Clausen is bullshit, plain and simple. I don't subscribe to the thought that a rookie QB can be "ruined" by a lousy offensive line, a petulant WR and a lame-duck coach/OC. When he got protection on third and forever Sunday he was like, "oh wow! I don't have to throw it out of bounds!" and hit Gettis for 22 yards and a first. Clausen hasn't shown enough to start in '11, don't get me wrong. But when a guy keeps getting hit then stops getting hit he gains confidence back. If that were the case, Weis "ruined" Clausen in '07...only he bounced back in '08. Regardless he'll be either QB1 or QB2 here next year. Wait and see.

2) I still don't think Luck will come out. I'm having my doubts about Cam now too, because Malzahn turned down the Vandy job and got a $1 million deal with Auburn next year. As close as those two are, I imagine Malzahn and Newton talked, and Malzahn said "if I come back, will you?"

Your whole perspective is rooted in Clausen holding onto his job because neither Luck or Newton declares for the draft. Well I can almost guarantee you that Newton is coming out no matter what Luck does. With money for his parents being an issue and the concerns he had in college, he knows that the best thing that he can do is get in the NFl and start making big bucks. He won every award this year which means he has nothing left to stay for unless they lose the national championship. Even then he wil be advised by everyone to run to the NFl while the getting is good before they find out what really happens with the scandal.

As for Luck, it makes little sense for his to stay as well. He will be told that coming out this year makes total sense as he will be the number 1 pick and frankly can't be higher. As for the whole CBA uncertainty, first rounders often aren't signed before June or July anyway and a deal will be done before then. Teams need the revenue generated by season tickets and box seats which get paid in the spring. There is no reason that folks will string this out and hawks like Richardson may be in the minority as this thing drags on and teams starting losing big money.

Nah one or both will declare and as poorly as Clausen has played, he has done nothing to show he will be the starter next year. I suspect that if he had even played decently they would have gone in a different direction and picked someone other than another quarterback, but he has almost guaranteed they would bring in another guy or two to compete.

you guys want to know why our quarterback situation is the way it is and what's gonna happen in the future??? Go research jeff davidson and our quarterback coach rip scherer. Its disturbing to see how precicely history is repeating itself and it just pisses me off to think that jerry richardson knew this guys past coaching experiences and STILL hired him. Long story short, i predict that jimmy clausen/matt moore will both remain in charlotte for about 2 more years, the team will continue to flip flop between them and they will both get released causing us to start over AGAIN..im telling you, the EXACT same thing happened to jeff davidson and rip scherer in cleveland with derrick anderson and brady quinn, the similarities in the two qb and coaching situations (the '06 browns with davidson and scherer the '10 panthers with davidison and scherer) are scary, all the way down to the two qb's colleges (moore/anderson: oregon st., quinn/clausen: notre dame)

this is the NFL, you don't get to stand in the pocket w/ no pressure. you have to play like Matt Schuab did last night......you have to successfully deal w/ the pressure coming at you.

The pressure will never stop coming at Clausen b/c of how he reacts to it. The OL isn't going to solve that....Clasuen has to.

Yeah, the OL needs to play better but you can't keep trying to pin Clausen's issues elsewhere.

What is your obsession with a black QB? If the better one is white what difference does it make? What difference does it make to you in general, except if you're in some way racist? Sorry I just don't understand why lobbying for a specific 'race' regardless of the talent is so important.

The Panther's need a QB but if it isn't for Luck they should gamble and trade down as much as they can see if they can get another pick.
