there also won't be a "60 million" man due to the new rookie pay scale in the upcoming CBA. Both sides have agreed they want this. But, I could see Fairley from Auburn or PP7 from LSU, or a trade down.

Peterson probably. He will prove to be one of the all time great physical specimens at the combine. Then spend on DT, WR, OL in FA and just try to figure out the QB position one way or another.

I wouldn't count out either of Cam Newton, Ryan Mallet or Jake Locker to be taken with the first pick. If either of those three have impressive bowl games and combine showings, it could entice the new coach to get "his" guy this year.

That being said, I would prefer us to trade out of the number one pick if Luck isn't there, and then select the best DT or OL available.

Mallett after he destroys the combine with his freak arm and Ben Roethlisberger body. That guy is going to be a good QB under the right coach. I think Luck is going to come out though.

What does it actually take to deal out of Number 1. I think most teams are scared to move out of it, if they are not given the world. I think switching #1's getting an extra second or 3rd and a player who we value would be good enough for giving up the #1 slot depending on where the trading team is as far as pick number is concerned.
