Lets say the last game of the year the Panthers have an opportunity to prevent Atlanta from getting home field throughout. However, a win would lose us the first overall pick.

If Atlanta lost in the playoffs on the road would the satisfaction of having played a part in that outweigh the loss of the first overall pick?

The fact that this is a question for anyone to take seriously speaks volumes about this forum

2) if NFCS gets another superbowl team, it looks good for the whole division. if panthers can manage to keep up with the rest of the teams the next few years, it will mean we are doing something right.

Obviously you haven't seen this draft. It's definitely not worth it. IMO there is only one player worth the #1 pick. Picks 2-10 are interchangeable as far as talent goes.
