Lets say the last game of the year the Panthers have an opportunity to prevent Atlanta from getting home field throughout. However, a win would lose us the first overall pick.

If Atlanta lost in the playoffs on the road would the satisfaction of having played a part in that outweigh the loss of the first overall pick?

No. While it would be awesome to screw over a rival, I'd rather be in the business of helping our own team get better so we can screw 'em over directly by keeping them OUT of the playoffs.

I don't think anything can stop the Falcons from getting the #1 seed. Even a loss to the Saints, I believe they would still get it.
