Carroll said he was not angry about the incident. But his teammates were fired up.

"They're cheaters," Dolphins inside linebacker Channing Crowder said. "They do what they do. They cheat. They talk junk. But we beat the hell out of them today.

"I wish they'd tripped me. I'd have broken that old man's leg. I didn't see anything. He stuck his leg out and tripped him? He should be ashamed of himself. A grown man from the coaching staff? That's high character."

Running back Ricky Williams said: "It's the Jets right? We're not surprised."

...

Crowder isn't expecting a fine.

"You can spit in people's face nowadays in the league and not get fined," Crowder, who was referring to an incident earlier this season in which the NFL decided against imposing any fines after investigating complaints by the Dolphins that Baltimore fullback Le'Ron McClain spit in Crowder's face, told ESPNNewYork.com.

This guy is hilarious... Pair this with his Anne Frank, oops, I meant Helen Keller rant and he has a solid career in comedy after he retires from football.

A snippet of that as well, pure gold:

After the game, Crowder held court at his locker in front of a gaggle of reporters. He went off about McClain, the refs and managed to make a bizarre historical reference in the process:

"I just got told not to talk about it, so I can't talk about it. But Le'Ron McClain spit in my face. He spit in my face. That's some real [two-letter word that rhymes with no] [expletive]. So if you talk to him, go tell him. He's a [same two letter word]. And if he ever comes to Miami, he's got to see me."

(Note that this whole diatribe begins with Crowder saying he can't talk about it. He then proceeds to talk about it for a full minute.) At this point, Crowder explains that his complaints to the refs were ignored.

"Then they said something about they let Karlos Dansby(notes) get away with a face mask the play before. Who the [expletive] cares? A guy just spit in my face! I don't give a damn about Karlos pulling somebody's face mask. Like they didn't see Chad Henne(notes) get hit twice when he slid. Yeah, a little Stevie Wonder and Anne Frank."

The natural question followed: What does a young Jewish girl writing a diary while hiding out during World War II have to do with Stevie Wonder, a spitting incident and the team of Dan Marino?

"Who was that? Is that the blind girl? Helen Keller ... I don't know who the [expletive] Anne Frank is. I'm mad right now. [Expletive] it. I'm not as swift as I usually am.

"That's the first time I've ever been spit in my face in my life. And that's the worst thing you can do to a man as another man, spit in somebody's face. Why would you do that? Why would you try to? Because you're scared of me? Really? Spit on me and then walk away real fast and let your team protect you? That's what he did."

    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
    • Logjam, indeed! Makes me nervous.
