The Cowher Watch

I love "sources".

You should really narrow this thread down to teams who will give Bill Cowher unilatteral control over all day to day decisions he demands because that is what the sources say it will require to get his sig on the bottom line.

Well that and 10 million per year, but I'm sure Cincy will cough that up.

Have fun.

I hope Cowher does end up in Dallas. I also hope that a vengeful Jason Garrett, armed with a number one pick from Stanford with every tool to mold into a professional QB, about a beeellion dollars in cap space, and Josh McDaniels as his OC, lands in Charlotte in a bad mood with something to prove. Would be nice, is what I'm sayin.

I think he'll do well in Houston. Dark horse to me

I could see it. Team on the rise, set at QB, some talent on defense to build on, etc.

Also wonder if he'd take the Bills job and perhaps retain Gailey as OC. As I recall, that was where the "We Want Cowher" billboard went up last year.

Lots of possible scenarios...

There's precedent for single season firings (most recently Cam Cameron) and given their history of late I think it's definitely possible.

That said, the Bills have been improving of late. If that continues, I might have to take him off the "likely" list.

Cam Cameron did not coach the Bills... the Bills don't usually fire coaches very quickly, and the Dolphins that year were worse than the Bills this year in many ways.

The Bills have fought hard nearly every game they've been in and, unlike us, have given some good teams some real big frights in overtime and the like. They are basically a couple drops away from being a couple games under .500 in what really was a rebuilding year.

I admit I could be wrong. You are right, any coach that far below .500 is usually on the hotseat. But in this case, since he's a first year coach and it's Buffalo, I kinda expect him to be back as long as the team doesn't give up.

Mangini is coming back to Cleveland. IMO the two main competitors are the Chargers (if Norv gets canned) and Denver. The Chargers because their roster is loaded and the Broncos because they have no problem giving full control to one person.

Hopefully Norv gets to stay and the Broncos go in a different direction. If that heppens then I think its whether or not JR offers him enough money.

Cincy, San Fran, Denver, Tennessee, and Houston are all likely to be looking for a coach to me.

Of those, I honestly think that Houston is probably the best bet for Cowher.

I think Turner actually wins his division this year, so I don't see him going anywhere.

I also do not think Cowher is coming to the Panthers... I think (maybe it's more like hope) the Panthers go for a young coach, but that's just me.
