Jets assistant coach is dirty and should be fired

In my opinion it was dirty, but not blatant dirty. It looked like it surprised the guy that he was coming so far out of bounds and he was pissed that his team was laying such an egg and just decided not to get out of the way. It's not like he stuck his knee in the field of play guys.

i guess that would make sense, but gunners go ou of bounds every single game, and every single punt.....and this NEVER happens. its zero class. the dude is a punk, how is it not BLATANTLY dirty?!? when he blatantly stuck his knee out to trip a guy in the middle of a play?

This move can be put on the same level as something like a leg whip (a clear attempt to interfere and difficult for the player to know its coming and react to it so it has a high potential for injury) which is given a 15yd PF and usually a healthy fine. This was clearly an attempt to interfere with play on the field. It was most likely not an attempt to injure, but an attempt to interfere in a manner that is dangerous and really freakin stupid. In hind sight, I would hope that he realizes how stupid it was and wouldn't do it again in a similar circumstance.

I can see a find and suspension, but give him another chance. Jets will have to fire him, as stupidity seems to be given more rope to the players than staff. Next stupid thing and you're bant.

what would you have called it if it was a rams player and seahawks' assistant?

It was definitely stupid but I'm not sure the guys whole career should be flushed down the toilet because of it. If Andre Johnson can rip some guys helmet off and punch him in the face and not even get suspended then I don't think you turn around and fire someone for something like this.

Also, it's not like he's a high-profile highly-paid player. Any punishment that he receives will hit him 1000X harder than a guy like Andre Johnson. Teams won't be lining up to hire "that guy that tripped that player" considering all the negative press and fan backlash just for a S&C coach. Basically, his entire career would be f**ked.

It was dirty and he needs to be punished but it should be weighted appropriately.

Im pleased with the Jets action on this

Later Monday, the Jets suspended Alosi without pay for the remainder of the season, including any post-season games, and also fined him $25,000. He will begin serving his suspension immediately and have no access to the team's practice facility.
