Anyone have Metal Gear Soild 4 for PS3?...

Im having trouble getting it to play. I got a brand new copy of it. Never opened and never played before. I put the disc in and after it downloads it's data into my playstation 3, I go and try to start a game. But every time I try to start a new game, it just takes me to these random tv shows. Then a loading screen pops up and it kicks me out of the game and back to the playstation 3 menu screen. I do not know how to fix this.

the tv shows are part of the intro, you can change channels by hitting R1 and R2, Kojima is a weird guy. not sure why it would be kicking you back to the menu though. possible defect?
