Smith wanted Clausen to apologize to the guys in the huddle

since I dunno where my other post went, looked him up on wikipedia, and wow... did his release slow or something, or what happened between high school and now??

also, yeah, he was old, but that alone doesn't explain his issues with his throws, but you're right, high history in school does explain some social issues.

edit: ehh, Moore may have been 17 but the time he took in college means they ended up in the NFL at the same age. I have no doubt though that since Moore didn't receive near the hype he had a very different experience in college, and it likely contributed to their maturity levels.

I do wonder if we're overblowing his supposed social issues though, we've had a bunch of reports of him being out with different players and hanging out at night.

The competition level increased among other things.

In HS he played in Division 12 or something with a bunch of private schools that had nothing close to decent football programs and his school had players from all over California on it.

Same thing happened in college. 3 stud weapons on offense against mostly inferior defenses.

In the NFL you don't get away with those things. Athletes are better all around and your flaws get exposed. I think he's going to have a hard time adjusting to not having the far superior athletes on his team.

Socially I cannot say what's going on with him but I've posted my opinions before. It happens all the time with kids of wealthy families. My roomate in college was the rich kid and we just used him to get booze and furniture for our apartment. Haven't talked to him since because the guy was a total duesch and thought we all had to like him just cuz he had money. Once you lose that leg to stand on (In this case, being a football star at the lower levels) you have to connect with people on another level and it's not happening right now.

So you diss Cam Newton because I know him, but you used somebody to get you booze and furniture? You're just full of class and intellect, not to mention tired Clausen posts and overused phrases like "throw it against the wall, eventually it'll stick." Maybe if you say it several more times it'll amuse someone, or have meaning. Doubtful.

The competition level shouldn't change someone from having a release that is so fast it's compared to Joe Namath to a release that makes molasses look fast, I don't think.

It exposes it though. It looks fast against guys that cannot capitalize on it but when you get to the NFL DBs and the Dline can time it and make plays.

I can see you missed the moral of the story. I didn't diss Cam SOLELY because you knew him but because of the character issues that surround him.

In terms of visual speed, it appears that his actual throwing motion has slowed. Quality of competition shouldn't affect that, unless he's still doing too much thinking instead of just doing

What about next season if we get Luck, and Smith is seen having temper tantrums on the sidelines, doing his best to mind f*ck our rookie qb with insults and snide remarks?

then fug him for trying to yell at andrew luck!

clausen deserves it. luck doesn't.

know why?

cause luck isn't our QB yet meaning he is the best QB ever.

It's weird that two things that were widely recognised on virtually every single draft analyst and now the complete opposite on the huddle.

1. His throwing motion was regarding as quick and only when he tries to throw it with real power did he need to wind up

2. His supporting cast (receivers) were generally below average at college level and his OLine was even worse

However now those two main things people were commenting on are the complete opposite...

That does seem common around here. Some are apparently willing to brush off Smitty's behavior because of Clausen's poor performance.

I love me some #89, but the guy is turning into a giant douche.
