After three: Falcons 24, Panthers 7

For a moment there, you almost thought the Panthers were going to pull a reverse Seattle.

Down 17-0 at halftime, they looked dead and buried. But they came out with a defense stop, and then marched 81 yards on five runs to score and cut the lead to 10.

It was thready, but it was a pulse.

Of course, their next chance with the ball ended when QB Jimmy Clausen was sacked for a 12-yard loss on fourth-and-4, and the Falcons answered with a quick 49-yard touchdown drive of their own.

RB Jonathan Stewart topped the 100-yard mark for the first time this year, thanks in large part to a 48 and a 42-yarder (his two longest runs of the year).

So they've got that going for them.
