Holiday drivers...

I'm from Asheville and we have plenty of poo drivers but I've spent the past week and a half in Columbia SC and the drivers here are way way worse. So many more people the chances of driving with idiots increases a lot is my theory.

That's because there are a lot of people from NC stationed at Ft. Jackson. :P

Best drivers NY/NJ. They don't allow people to go slow.

Actually, they are the worst drivers.

America's worst drivers by state

Worried about getting hit by some careless driver who doesn't know the rules of the road? Well then you might want to steer clear of New York, New Jersey, Hawaii and California

"As an insurance company, we see the unfortunate results every day of what happens when people don't know the rules of the road," Bontrager said.

Where are the best -- or at least most-knowledgeable -- drivers? Idaho, Wisconsin, Montana and Kansas.

Overall, the Northeast had the lowest average test scores at 74.5 percent

The most frequently missed question, year after year, is the proper safe distance to follow another car on the road.

Of course for many people these question are tough because it's been decades since they took a driving test. But that's not necessarily the reason for the knowledge gap.

"There's a tendency for younger drivers to not do as well. Drivers over the age of 35 start doing better again. It's not just a memory thing," Bontrager said. "Older drivers typically do better. Apparently there's something to age and experience that makes people more familiar with the general rules of the road. Or maybe they all just studied better back then."

Meh.... knowing the laws and following them aren't the same thing.

Everybody seems to know that the left lane is the fast lane.... until they're off in a daze cruising in the left lane. Everybody knows that speed limit sign says 55, but knows they'll get by with 60. Everybody else is content going 43. Now you go 75 to pass all of them at once.

Knowing =/= doing.

Then you have questions like this:

When making right or left turns, a driver should signal _______ before the turn?

A. 100 feet

B. 50 feet

C. 35 feet

D. 5 feet

Who cares, as long as you aren't signaling at an intersection before your intersection and you well, actually USE your signal?

Of course an insurance company says the slowest drivers are the best.

They didn't really mention speed. Just said that the NE drivers have the lowest test scores on knowing the rules of the road. Perhaps because they drive less due to more Mass transit. Said that one of the questions that is missed the most is the meaning of a solid yellow line. Hard to believe any driver doesn't know what that means.

    • The escapism is really what's missing. I actually do think Bryce's awareness and ability to improvise on broken plays is above average--better than when he's throwing in the pocket because it forces the recievers to get seperation and within his line of sight. If he could scramble in the backfield like Seattle Russ until someone get open I believe he'd have the tools to be a franchise QB even with his noodle arm. He did that in college but it hasn't translated to the pro level.
    • You’re right, again on X, that’s what’s being said. Anyone who actually watched could tell that the Cards defense was different in the second half…until the game was on the line the last drive, then they went into first half mode.
    • The version of Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay now was never going to be that here. He got a very heavy portion of humble pie both with the Browns and us. That was a driving force in changing his career. And at the end of the day the Bucs are unfortunately a well ran organization. But Baker had already flashed his physical gifts and potential even with the lowly Browns. He just had to get out of his own way and drop the immature meathead crap. Too bad for Geno Smith and Pete Carroll. That wall comes fast. They are both past their expiration date. And as of recently some of Geno's comments sound like a guy rather full of himself. The league will be glad to humble you.
