Melo to Bobcats?

Why is this surprising? Charlotte has been linked to the Melo trade talks since the start.

Espn has brought up Charlotte just about everytime... Back in November as well as the original 4 team trade... and of course now.

The reason being is that everyone thinks that Jordan will give up Wallace and TT or something similar for Melo with out signing Melo to an extension.

Also no updates or anything yet...

if it's anything like profootballtalk, it's not a reliable source. NBC in general the same could be said.

Thats a pretty bad website, early this week, they called S. Collins the Bobcats 1st round pick, when we didnt have any picks and he was a undrafted FA.

First off Melo does not want to be in Charlotte PERIOD. You can wish and fabricated reasons why Melo would re-sign an extension in Charlotte, but it will not happen. Melo wants to play in the Lime-light next to Stodimire and CP3 or Felton. In case you didnt know, the Knicks or on a pretty nice win streak, oh and they have MDA as a coach.

Look, I am not saying we couldnt trade for him and turn this season around (and even MAYBE make the playoffs). But, it is just silly to think Melo would come to Charlotte on his own will.

By, the way, as a Cats fan, I would be all for trading whoever, and bumping our hall of fame coach aside to get a winning team, but its not happening with Melo coming and staying in Charlotte.

Not saying its true or not, but When the rumors first came out. The Bobcats were supposedly on the List of teams that Melo wanted to go to. <- take with a grain of salt because you never know with Rumors.

But Charlotte has a few things going for it in this

1. MJ and Melo are friends

2. Melo is on the Jordan Brand

3. Young team and charlotte has the Pieces to trade for Melo.

MJ would make the trade even if Melo doesn't sign the extension before hand

Not likely to happen, but Melo doesn't have the option to pick and choose anymore and Denver will get something out of it either way.

But the Knicks are not the only team trying to acquire Anthony, as noted by the source who said the Bobcats are trying to trade for him (the source did not reveal exactly what Charlotte was offering). Also, the pool of available players will increase substantially on Wednesday, when players who signed contracts over the summer become trade-eligible.

Well, probably not happening, but we can hope.

I don't know why he'd want to go to NY and be such a cliche. Why not go to a team like the Bobcats and it becomes HIS team. Lead them to success, and you may be the BEST Bobcat ever. If we get Melo I could see us landing CP3. Maybe having Jordan as the owner will entice them (and some money).

If Melo goes to NY, he'll be competing with Amare for the "HIS team" title, here, he's a god among men.

I don't see it happening though but we'll see.
