Jimmy Davidson/Clausen on Madden 11.

Madden 11 has this shitty new mode called gameflow that nobody ever uses. I was bored, so I played with the Panthers until the 4th quarter, then let the computer play with both teams, just to see who would win, and what would happen. Here is how it played out.

1st and 10 from our own 33. 2 Mins to go in the 4th, down 21-17

They expect us to pass here with no timeouts remaining like every other credible NFL team would. Boy they are going to look stupid when we pop a huge gain by running right up the gut. HA. I love my job.

Jimmy Clausen hands off to Mike Goodson for a loss of 3 yards.

Damn. I thought for sure that would work. Ok, forget that play, the clock is moving. What we're going to do here is send Smitty on a 4 yard crossing pattern. Jimmy, you give him the ball, and Smitty needs to break about 7 tackles to get out of bounds.

Jimmy Clausen throws the ball away, although there was very little pressure on him, and every available receiver was wide open.

Alright we need to get something here guys. They are in Cover 2, so its obvious that the right play call here is a play action deep ball. 5 step drop, then you hit your receiver who has found a 3 foot hole in their zone. Got it?

God damn it. Alright, 3rd long, and they are in prevent defense. Lets go Max Pro. Jeff King should be streaking up the field after your 1 step drop, so hit him in stride, and it should be 6

Alright, going forward, thats what I like to see. Ok, 4th down, its go time. Once again we're in Max Pro. Better yet, play action, 4 step to Mike Goodson 17 yards short of the first down marker. Remember guys, this is it. The play call is solid, I need you to execute.

The pocket falls apart, and a panicked Jimmy Clausen scrambles for 2 yards then slides down to avoid contact. Turnover on downs. The BILLS take over and kneel on the ball to secure the Win.

Madden isn't the best way to see how good teams really are. It is the best simulator because its the only simulator besides football mogul. The Panthers are horrible on the game though. Usually I think the panthers are underrated and they usually do better than what madden simulates but this year they were pretty accurate.
