Even if he is the real deal, a rookie takes time to gain experience in this league.

It can happen Ilike Ryan), but more often it takes a few years for a top QB to learn the pro game....and don't give me the Sanchez crap. He had a defense that protected his play. His stats last season were only eclipsed by Jake's.

The absolute best thing you can do for a rookie QB is to have a seasoned vet there to help him. There is ALOT more to the NFL game than physically making the throws. The NFL game is at lightning speed compared to the college game.

Luck is considered the most pro ready QB to come out from college in the history of the NFL.

The number one draft pick does not need hand holding. He will be paid tens of millions of dollars to do his job.

I'm not a Luck opponent - but I do think that if for any reason we don't end up with Luck my opinion is pick up one of the other first round QB talents in this draft (other than Newton please? My gut feeling is that whoever drafts him in the first round is going to be disappointed in their investment) and couple that addition with a FA QB that can manage things for a year or two while the draftee develops.

Also @ Alex Smith suggestions: I find it highly amusing that our fans and 49ers fans want to trade shitty QBs. There are people on their board who want Clausen and people on ours who want Smith. It's pretty lewlz.
