Took the words right out of my keybaord lol.

I think it's a personal move. I don't think he wants to put the attention on him and going pro while he still has a big game left in college. If he has a poor performance, everyone will just say it's b/c he was too focused on the NFL. This way he can just focus on his last game and then focus on his next move.

I think he declares b/c he's almost promised to go #1, you can't predict injuries in college, and we actually have a solid core of guys for having the worst record.

Oh that was the other thing I was going to mention, but it got lost when I was planning out the ol' wall o' text.

If Luck's simply waiting until the bowl game is over to announce his decision, he's already decided to declare. Saying that he's going to stay another year wouldn't be a distraction to his current team.

That may very well be true, but there again his decision could have a lot to do with what happens in the game. Most guys don't like to leave on a sour note and losing in a big bowl game would be a hard way to go out for Luck as it would any QB with the chance to come back and make it right.

There are just too many variables to weigh here. Getting too far off onto the trail of subjective opinion just makes us all look desperate.... even though we are.

this is what I was thinking

there is no reason for him to postpone announcing he's going to stay at Stanford, while there are plenty of reasons to postpone announcing he's going to enter the draft.

all signs point to him entering the draft. at least I hope :D

I'd like that to be true, but objectively, he could honestly just be undecided.

I have seen him in every game, one in person when he put the Cardinal up against my Ducks 21-3 early in the second quarter. I've watched all the other games on ESPN or Fox Sports NW. He is the real deal, and he will only get better. The main reasons I want Harbaugh, is because he'll run a version of what he does at Stanford with the Panthers, and Luck will already have 3 years in the system, before they even start here. Second, if Harbaugh leaves, then Luck will too. Plus hes losing 7 of 11 starters on Offense, them going 11-1 next year, does not seem to be likely.

That seems pretty significant to me in two ways.

Firstly if a lot of the guys he has been playing with the last two years there is more of an emotional attachment to enter the draft with them.

Secondly he obviously has a lot of seniors on his team, which means his offense has been at an advantage over most defences he has played against.

Not belittling him at all, just pointing out that he might not be the saviour we expect him to be right out the bat.

Some solid points:

If he were staying, he would say so. THe academic excuse is in the event Buffalo won the pick (or a team he didn't desire) and he could stay in without offending anyone.

He wants to make sure, and he knows that he should focus on the bowl game. It is a big deal for Stanford and he owes 100% concentration to his team.

He also wants to meet with Harbaugh and find out what he is doing. The ONLY reason he would return is if the team picking first is not desirable AND Harbaugh was returning. Harbaugh has a contract on the table.

As for the theory that he is narcissistic, I am afraid that would be Brett Favre, but not Luck. He will wait until the 15th because it gives him the best view of the future. Breaking news about a standoff in the CBA, Harbaugh returns to Stanford, The Panthers hire Jerry Glanville, etc. could sway his decision
