Let's Accept Some Basic Truths

I doubt he will be any better than VY. The best part of his game is his speed and ability to run over defenders which will not happen at the next level. Its not like he's Vick fast, or even close. Secondly, from what I've seen and heard, his arm is not that great in power or accuracy. If we dont get Luck or Mallet we need to get D line, Aj Green, or a corner/safety

Who lied to you or what are you looking at? Cam can flick the ball 50-60 yds with ease

Except to sit around for a year doing nothing while the next "guarantee'd great QB" rises to the top of the draft board.
why would that matter to him? he'd already be drafted and have a team.

the draft is happening on schedule regardless of what happens with the CBA.

really by next season if everything goes as planned on offense we will have:

A) Andrew Luck

B) Our entire starting offensive line intact

C) At least Stewart/Williams and Goodson in the backfield

our offense needs another starting WR and a complete TE with some good line depth, and we'll be set.

DT you get two good DTs or one great DT, replace Godfrey in the secondary and coaching will take the unit the rest of the way.

LOL @ the person who said Newton doesn't have an arm.

I love hearing these people who clearly watch no college FB talk about these players.

Edit: hell or NFL other than the Panthers for that matter.

Oakland for example: great run game, good OLINE, good WR's, and a solid defense.

Oakland is in a better position than us, they ONLY need a QB.

their wide receivers are as good as the panthers, and if only, IF ONLY, the Panthers had a good o line and running game. Sigh.

as far as being in a good position, you're forgetting that al davis is going to hire a potted plant to coach them.

I was pointing out that Oakland isn't what a lot of people seem to think, and actually the Panthers OLINE is horrible, especially in pass protection.

For an insane owner his team is playing pretty well, albeit inconsistent.

the panthers oline has been decimated by injury and negligence on the part of the owner and is protecting a QB that couldn't spot a blitzer if he was lined up directly between the defensive tackles, which they often are.

see how often jimbo ever points out a blitzer or adjusts coverage. there's more to blitz pickup than just a bunch of dudes blocking other dudes. it's not like the entire left side of the line forgot out how to do it over night.

Yes Jimmy sucks, can't move in, step up in, and likely doesn't even know what the pocket is.

If Otah is going to miss so many games every time he stubs a toe, we may as well pick up a new RT.(which probably means we really aren't so solid there)

And i've always felt that "false start" Gross was overrated.

A 5 yard penalty against our offense may as well be 10 or 15.

Which brings up another not so likable factor on this team, and that's the O-coordinator.(which is likely to change after the season)

cam newton.....atlanta was with vick and tampa is doing it now.... we need a threat behind center...with our o line luck will be lucky to pull of a 50 plus run...and besides the playcalling is like pee wee football in carolina...always been.... he will struggle not as bad as clausen but we still wont be even a contender in our division...the defense was amazing if you take in the fact that the offense went 4 and out 67% this year...

Perhaps, but knowing how to win in the NFL is paramount. The Texans and Bengals are a prime example. Loaded with talent but don't know how to win. At least the Panthers know they have won and been successful in the very near past. Plus we have strong management regardless of what people are saying about this year alone.

It will not take long for us to get back on top. If you look at our 15 year history in the NFL, there has only been a couple years that we have not been competitive. That is pretty strong for a young franchise. As I have said many times, if George Shinn was running this organization I would be concerned, but JR is as solid as they come.

lol
