What is up with the Panthers website?

what do you expect them to do? whine and complain about peppers leaving as well as all the defensive coaches?

are they supposed to start complaining about how screwed they are?

are they supposed to tell everyone what they are going to do? what they are planning?

it just isn't going to happen.

not much to report until we have news to report on the coach front or until somehting is decided about peppers.

if you are wanting a news service, you don't look to the panthers website. that isn't what it is there for. it is a PR vehicle that is used by the organization just like every other team website out there.

unless you aren't capable of grasping what the team websites are used for you shouldn't have a problem with it.

they don't have anything on peppers or trgovac. they have stories on other coaches.

seems they are having a hard time reporting the news of the offseason on the teams very own website!!!

i had it as my start up page but had to change to espn nfl to keep up with the news of my fav. team cause their own website is so far behind.

you need to do something a lot less dumb to find out news on your favorite team.

here are the only links you need to have (other than here).....

Darin Gantt

Darin Gantt Blog

Steve Reed

and as a LAST resort

Charlotte Observer Carolina Panthers News

most of the times when you see articles on the main news services regarding the panthers they are citing darin gantt and steve reed and every once in a while one of the observer clowns.

gantt and reed know whats going on, though. if they aren't talking about it, it ain't happening or it isn't important.

I doubt that is the reason. The panther website is aweful, I stopped even looking at that garbage a long time ago, they are usually about 3 days behind on any major news if they even ever put it up there. You would think they would have a little more pride in what they do.

You should consider coming back to it.

Though the content is still dictated by the organization, the new writer Andrew Mason does a great job in the articles he does write.

Sometimes he borders on the overdramatic, but more often than not I find myself really admiring his writing style. I love reading the guy's stuff.

He's pretty good, but he's still a fluff writer working for a team that has absolute control over it's media. The first several years, it was a different story, but they were fired and the Panthers assumed control...

The website doesn't post stories until they've been absolutely confirmed.

Which is why they are late on breaking news a lot.

Last year they were on time with events. Meeks being hired was posted literally minutes after Gantt and Steve Reed.

They used to be very late, if even mentioning news.

But the new guy has been on time...
