Carolina Panthers owner Richardson to PSL owners: I take full responsibility

Going forward, our plan of attack is to build through the draft while retaining our core players.

Whats the definition of insanity again?

How about throwing in a free agent once in a while. "The plan" isn't working and has been run by sports writers, relatives and ex college administrators. Hire a damn GM that knows something about football. We have one of the least talented rosters in the league largely due to front office mismanagement. Its not all Fox's fault.

Cheaper in overall quality...so the worst possible combination of cheap & young happened here under Richardson, Fox, & Hurney.

I respect Richardson for the letter though. It was a smart move to make while the season is still going on. In the end, I still think we'll be in good shape with the young guys. It's just a damn shame this year became such a waste. It's sure hard to develop a young quality team with a lame duck coach.

Tampa went cheap and young last year. And no, we didn't go cheaper.

Over the past 2 years they got a franchise quarterback upgraded the defensive line and secondary, got 3 big DTs and upgraded at wide receiver.

We have picked up the wide receivers and picked up Clausen although he doesn't look like Josh Freeman at all. If we draft a couple of DTs, pick up Newton and a few secondary guys we could be in contention in a year or two.

People who think they should get something back anytime the team does poorly (without, of course, offering to give more when they do well) are the same type of people that think their doing the waiter a favor by tipping 10%.

Pretty much.

Fantrums are always amusing.

jerry should have recognized when you go through a youth movement at the same time a head coach is in the lame duck year of his contract, you're going to be an awful team.

I agree he should have gone ahead and fired Fox, but then it's fairly easy to make a decision with six million dollars of someone else's money.

When it's your own... :sosp:

Richardson has everyone by the short hars because we are PSL owners. When Atlanta sucked the year that Vick went to jail they lowered prices to fill the stadium because people could and did walk away. You think JR is going to lower prices next year. Why not? Because he doesn't have to. he knows that 95% of the stadium are PSL owners who couldn't dump their PSLs without taking another beating. So he keeps things high and if we win next year will raise them again. Do they ever go down? Never. It is only a 1 way street and not subject to the normal rules of supply and demand.

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
