The Quarterback Thread

Replace Rodgers with Ryan fuzz.

No.

He is on the cusp of my top 5, but not yet ready to knock of Rodgers.

Ryan has a healthy cast, and a great run game.

Rodgers has neither of these.

Close but no cigar are, Ben, Ryan, and possibly Vick, but he isn't there yet.

Combine the hype, weapons, and type of offense and right now you are left a little disappointed in him. If it wasn't for his last 4 games he'd be having an average year. 3 of those 4 against poor pass defenses.

Let's see, he's missing one of the game's most promising tight ends, his #2 receiver has been hurt for several games, his running game is in the bottom third of the league, and yet he's fourth in the league in passer rating, his team is in good position for a playoff spot, and his play is peaking at the right time. Yeah, I really see Green Bay fans being disappointed in him and wanting Favre back due to Rodgers' "underperformance"

Yes that's really what I said, clown.

I didn't know you'd get so butt hurt over a little criticism of ARod.

All I'm saying is that people were expecting insane numbers from him and an MVP push and he's not close to that and he's not Top 5 QBs this year and sure as hell isn't Top 3.

Brady

Manning

Rivers

Brees

Vick

Ryan

Rodgers

Big Ben

Freeman

Something like that. This game is more than just stats.

Who is it that is considers him a "disappointment" and "underperforming for sure" this year other than you TheRealDeal? You list Manning has having the 2nd best year quarterbacking wise in the league and he's got 11 INTs in his last 3 games and his team is out of the playoffs at the moment. He just threw 4 INTs against a team with a "poor secondary" that Rodgers just carved up a few weeks ago.

Then again I guess when you spend hours upon hours defending the fantastic quarterbacking of Matt Moore, I shouldn't expect your analysis to be anywhere near reality based.

Like I said this game is more than stats. You can believe whatever you want but people were talking Superbowl and MVP for him and he's close to neither.

Now (as in this season)

1) Brady - no argument here, he is easily the best qb this year he just wins games; and does it with sub par talent at times

2) Rivers- having the best statistical season of anyone, his best three recievers (Jackson, Gates, and Floyd) have all been out at some point, and there running game isn't all that great

3a) Vick- monster year from him, sometimes he appears to be the best player to ever play the game, other times the Iggles can't block for poo; having a great year but unfortunately still needs a big couple of weeks if he wants to win his first MVP award

3b) Brees- Started off slow, but look at how many comeback wins this guy has had this year. 49ers, Cowboys, and Bengals....yeah those teams suck but damn the Saints d puts Brees on the ropes and Brees fires back with key w's. This however finally proves my point that the Saints D is vastly overrated. yeah they blitz like crazy and get some key turnovers, but you know what happens when your d coordinator is an overaggressive douche ??? It comes back to bite you in the ass, terrible teams have put up decent numbers on the Saints and Brees has had to save their asses. I hate the Saints but I really hate their defense and d coordinator , hell we almost beat them the first go around!!!!!!!!!

5) Manning- had a rough couple of weeks but is still one of the best to play the game and isn't having an awful year, although I will admit Matt Ryan or Rapethisgirl might be pushing him for this spot
