Peyton Manning

Caldwell sucks, said it when they bumped him up to HC. Saw his great coaching talent with Wake Forrest...

But, the Colts are hurting and there is only so much you can do with a banged up team. Since the Panthers have had a few of those years, you would think some people would understand that.

Wake Forest

But Agreed...

I still think that Manning is the best QB out there right now, followed closely by Rivers, but they are both working with patchwork O's.

To win, the Colts and the Chargers QB's have to play almost perfect football, and just is not always going to be the case.

Colts 6-6. Is Caldwell's seat getting warm?

I hope so. I wasn't sold on Caldwell when they appointed him Dungys successor.

Of course, it's a tough job to fallow a good coach that everyone liked. Just ask John Gruden, Barry Switzer or George Seifert.

At least the COLTS didnt' hire Seifert like some other team that will remain nameless! (Cough, Carolina Panthers, Cough) Sorry, I think I had a furball in my throat.

Bob (I'm Jeff George's Official Knob Polisher) Kravitz wrote last year that at 32 Peyton's best years were behind him. (I seem to remember John Elway won a Super Bowl or 2 at age 36?)

Not to make excuses, but Dungy left, Mudd and Moore retired and took a lessor position as "advisers" and just about all the key players are on IR. Marvelous Marvin Harrison's contract doesn't get renewed.

They really need though to take a look at their front Offensive Line and the RB position.

I had picked the Texans to win the division, but that's not gong to happen. Also, It had been so long since I watched a game and thought to myself, "I hope they win". Since Peyton's second season, it has been, "I know they will win!"

the Jaguars are quietly owning the AFC South. I think Peyton will still have the final say of who walks out

wow i'm not going to go digging but didn't you say something to the effect of the Jaguars were a pathetic excuse for a NFL team during there MNF game earlier this year. Just goes to show you little the first few games of the season really matter

[Meat]This is funny....watching Peyton Manning try to win games late, he keeps throwing the football to the other team.[/Meat]

Manning outside of Dungy's coaching is just another Favre. Alot of yards, alot of INTs, but just 1 ring.

LOL, what a ridiculous statement. Peyton has a lot of fuging TD's and wins too.

http://www.nfl.com/players/peytonmanning/profile?id=MAN515097

Manning has a career TD to INT ratio of 1.99 to 1. 390 TDs to 196 INT

Favre is at a ratio of 1.5 to 1. 507 TDs to 335 INTs.

Now... your man - Tom Brady - Ratio of 2.4. 248 TDs to 103 INT. Pretty impressive right? Sure.

However, here's another stat...

Career Completion Percent:

Bret Favre - 61.9 (6,295 completions out of 10,162 attempts)

Tom Brady - 63.6 (2,908 completions out of 4,574 attempts)

Peyton Manning - 64.9 (4,585 completions out of 7,065 attempts)

Now... one more stat to round this out:

Years Pro:

Brett Favre - 20

Peyton Manning - 13

Tom Brady - 11

Now... does this tell you anything? It does to me:

1. All three of these guys are tremendously talented QBs.

2. They have all won a Super Bowl.

3. Tom Brady has thrown the ball for fewer attempts than Peyton Manning has completions, and has more Super Bowl rings. Ergo, Tom Brady has had better teams that could run the ball and play defense.

Face it... Peyton Manning has, year after year, elevated the Colts. He's been their entire offense for season after season. The fact he has the highest completion percentage out of all three of these dudes means he is more accurate than any of them.

He has a few bad games throwing to rookies and you're gonna say "Yeah, he throws a lot of INTs". Seriously? Why the hate?

he's had a particularly bad last... month or so?

it's no surprise. this is probably a receiver corps he has the least comfort and familiarity with since he came into the pros. with a QB like him, half his throws are made to where he knows a receiver will be.

but they don't always end up being there, especially as rookies. :P
