Davidson is on Chief's list

Didn't know if this had been posted but I heard Mortensen on ESPN yesterday say not to be surprised if the Chiefs go after Jeff Davidson. I think they have probably already found their main target in Todd Haley but things change quickly.

I would honestly consider firing Fox just to keep Davidson and make him the HC if that is what it would take to keep the guy on our staff. The first time since Fox has been here that we have had a potent offense...Not willing to give that up without a fight.

Yeah, we need to keep him here. We would've gone 1-7 the last half of the season with his 30 point performances. Don't know about firing fox just for him though...

mortenson was also saying that shanahan had been offered the job in KC.

mortenson is wrong much more often than he is right. i would more trust him picking my lottery ticket numbers.

don't hit the panic button. all he has been able to prove is that his crap doesn't stick to the wall when he throws it.

ima need to see a link for myself....i do think it's strange davidson hasn't signed with us (?) yet so the story could be plausible

we better do what we can to keep Davidson, b/c idt there's any other good options for offensive coordinator out there

No link...TV interview. I wouldn't start worrying until Todd Haley and Kurt Ferentz turn the job down. They are probably the two most "talked about" candidates right now. If they get past 2-3 candidates and still don't have a HC then I would start to worry.

Right now IMO Jeff Davidson is more valuable to this team than John Fox. The statistic posted above of going 1-7 without performances of at least 30 points has to tell you something. You don't see Fox meddling in the offense do you?

a promotion and a few more million dollars a year would make you leave too...

just saying

They're a sh*t team right now though. He'd be better off being an OC with a team that has an elite WR, RB(maybe 2), an inconsistent but manageable qb, and the right oline set in place to do some damage. He'd get better offers after next season.

How much of the improvement was Davidson and how much was because of revamping the OL, having quality backups and quality RBs? I think Dan Henning could have done a great job with this team. In fact I think just about anybody with college OC experience could have done a good job with this team!

    • As I said less than 10 minutes into the game, Boston looks nothing like we're used to seeing. Regardless, any curb-stomping of the Bruins is welcome.  The scorers all got the glory tonight, but all 6 D-men had excellent games. Across the board- Gost, Orlov, Chatty, Walker and, of course, Slavin & Burns.
    • I just tried a few mock draft simulators and this is the only way lol. Nothing else makes sense.
    • No, biggest weakness is pass rush, but I don't think there is a blue chip can't miss DE prospect to take at #1 this year, same as with QB.  But beyond that, moving forward, yea WR is a pretty damn big weakness. We have 1 game this season over 224 yards passing and just traded away our best WR (who wasn't going to re-sign here anyways).  That WR no longer on the team was also the only player we've had this year who had over 78 yards receiving in a game.  So again, yea, WR is one of our biggest weaknesses even right now, let alone moving into the future. As I just said in my other post, I love Legette, but he's not going to be a Top 5-10 WR type of guy, Top 15-20 I can see, I think he can be a good #1 WR or an elite #2. After that, what do we have for the future?  Thielen isn't part of it, sure as hell isn't going to be Mingo, and as much as we all like Coker, in no world is Coker as our #2 to Legette as the #1 going be considered as "having weapons" at WR, even with Brooks and Sanders. But put someone like T-Mac into that group, who I genuinely think is going to be a Top 5 WR in this league for a long time, and it changes things.  A Top 5 WR with Legette/Coker as the 2/3, along with Brooks and Sanders, has the potential to be one of the best set of offensive weapons in the league if they reach their potential.
