My FB picture is Lennon and I was in a chat w/ one of my friends and he said:

"that creepy old guy in your picture is freaking me out."

Me -"that's John Lennon"

"John who?"

Me - "I can't associate myself with you anymore"

just like one girl was singing awful john mayer one day "bold as love" and "free-falling"

I said do you know who those songs are originally from?

Her answer- ....John Mayer?

Yet another reason for me to never talk to her again and for me to hate John Mayer even more

Its not as good as Sweeney Todd and the best thing about Across the Universe is that other people sang the songs.

Ill have to check sweeny todd out , never seen it but i heard good things .although im probably not the best guy to judge musicals I've seen like 3 hahaha... but anyway you cut cut across the universe is a great film.

In the early days of SNL Lorne Micheals came on and offered something like 10,000 dollars to the Beatles if they came on the show and played 3 songs, "Love Me Do" and a couple of others as a joke.

McCartney was at Lennons apartment just a few blocks away watching and considered heading down there, can you imagine how absolutely cool that would have been?

I think that Lennon needed McCartney to make his ideas more accessible to the rest of us, and McCartney needed Lennon to make his music more relevant, interesting, and cool - but Lennon needed McCartney more than the opposite. I do believe that they would have written together during the 80s again if Lennon was not shot by that absolute douchebag. Would have it been good? Who knows, who cares? Just the fact that they were working together would have been such a great thing to see.
