All he is doing is further pissing off the owners and ruining any chance of a CBA being done. I have to think that is his intent all along. The guy won't negotiate in good faith, just wants to push his personal agenda's and demands.

If I am the NFL I send a letter saying that's it, you are going to be locked out as soon as the CBA officially ends in March and they are going with replacement players. Maybe then the players will wake up and can this idiot

The owners are the ones threatening the shutdown, which means no replacement players which means no football.

the owners are saying lets sit down and hammer this out. Smith has been the one being a prick about it the entire time. He doesn't want to negotiate he wants to DEMAND and if his demands aren't met then he wont' even talk to the owners.

There is a way I read that the NFL can fire off a final offer and if the players don't accept then they can either play under it or strike which opens up the owners to being able to use replacement players. Either way the Billionares will always win over millionares. the players really need to get rid of smith and get someone with a friggin clue back to the negotiating table

DeMaurice Smith and the NFLPA are in no position to demand anything. The owners suspended the CBA under a clause in the CBA the NFLPA agreed to. The owners are making the demands and if they aren't met, they lock the gates- pretty simple. Who the $@#& is Smith to be making any demands? He has no bargaining chips, he's screwing with the players' money and he hasno room to do anything but reach.

EXACTLY!!! Before getting appointed to the NFLPA Pres this guy has no real ties to the NFL at all. This is nothing but him and his ego trying to prove something and the facts are he has NOTHING.

The players really better fire his ass and get someone else in there or they are goning to get locked out and not get anything.

The players need to understand, no matter what they are still employees and they can't outlast the Owners.

Yeah! Whaddya mean trying to take away those highly competitive, hard-fought, pre-season games?

I'll be writing letters to the league office if they get rid of those pre-season games. And I'll be even more pissed off if they try to reduce the ticket prices for those pre-season games...

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
