Arent they charging reg season game rates for preseason games? I suppose the only benefit would be the TV package.

The NFL as we know it might be dissolved in the worst case scenario, but as long as there is a market, there will always be professional football in this country. I am not sure a disgruntled union holds the power to evaporate their employer. Change it, yes. But the owners are the risk takers and control the assets--the players are simply a unified labor front. Remember, the owners have lawyers too, and they are not going public. Why is that?

Most likely this suit will get toss too. Even if a judge allows it the NFL will appeal the ruling and it will get tied up in court.

All this manuvering by the NFLPA is just a show. Like a person that bows there chest out before a fight. They are just want to make it seem like they have leverage when they really dont.

Even if the players drop the union there will be no CBA till the Union is formed once again. Lawsuits will def take more then a year to complete and your going to sit here and tell me that Players are just going to stand pat for 2,4,or more likely 6 years without pay? Dont think so...

A) How long the lockout with ACTUALLY last before a deal gets done.

How long it will take the NFLPA to fire Demorice Smith once they realize they are not going to get what he wants. You have to remember that these guys are football players and they have the shortest shelf life of any athlete in the world.

a) A guy who takes what the league tells him and gets you the worst deal without negotiation?

A guy who is doing everything including lawsuits etc.. as negotiation ploys to get you the best deal possible?

this guys are playing 20 games anyway....its just two less preseason games...plus the owners are charging the same for a game wither its preseason or regular season.....seems like a win win for the fans

injuries takes away from the game.. has nothing to do with who is actually getting injured.. now I get it.. y'all aren't considering that injuries affects the team, not just the player.. the team who you pull for is going to face more injuries and the quality of game play will go down..

Now I get it.. y'all don't actually know what the argument is about...

it has zero to do with the players getting hurt.. it has everything to do with YOUR team taking the hit when the injury bug wipes out majority of your team..

in '04, the Panthers had 17 starters injured.. We made hell of a run in the 2nd half of the season, but didn't quite have enough to make it.. in '05, by the time we got to the NFC championship, we were on our 4th string RB.. In '06, we faced injuries, but I believe we never lived up to expectations (that's a knock on Fox).. in '07, we had 4 QBs start and never had a chance..

These aren't examples of "players knowing what they sign up for".. these are examples of YOUR team getting f**ked because injuries already occur at an alarming rate...

There are several teams with the potential to go deep into the playoffs this year, but face a bigger opponent in the form of injuries than the guys across the field with a different logo on the helmet..

add 2 more games and it's only going to get worse.. you may say "it's only 2 more games", but you obviously are ignoring the 16 current games where injuries decimate teams every year as it is...

don't be so short sighted to the real issue that is about to occur.. the point is those players play for the team you pull for and 18 games only increases the chances that injuries keep your team out of playoff contention..

now if you still wana go around with a grudge against players due to the money they make, go for it.. we are all about to find out how screwed we are for an 18 game season..
