Demorice Smith is going to ruin pro football

I still don't believe there will be a lockout.

I don't either. Lose a little, or lose everything. Smith is trying to position by playing public sentiment against owners. It is not working. It is also a tactic used by desperate people. He won't negotiate because he has no aces up his sleeve.

There could be a short lockout, but one that will not last into the summer, IMO. When the average career is 4 years, does Smith thing players will sit one out so he can win a legal battle?

He seems to be using fear, and that is desperation.

There can't be.

The Players would decertify the union and destroy the NFL with an anti-trust lawsuit. They've already begun to do this.

Highlandfire clearly doesn't understand....well, anything, as evidenced by this comment.

The guy [Demorice Smith] won't negotiate in good faith, just wants to push his personal agenda's and demands.

He's taken the best possible strategy against an ownership group that has all of the power in these "negotiations," and by negotiations I mean a group of rich white dudes who decided that the deal their elected represented negotiated is no longer good enough for them because they're losing money but how dare you suggest we open our books to prove our claim

you think fans would be happy with playing more games and less pre season crap.....you guys are hard to understand

2 more full 4 quarter games are going to mean more injuries.. you'd think Panther fans who are used to seeing an extraordinary amount of injuries every year would hate to see 18 games and 2 preseason..

JMO, of course...

this guys are playing 20 games anyway....its just two less preseason games...plus the owners are charging the same for a game wither its preseason or regular season.....seems like a win win for the fans

Do you really think a preseason game is the same?

I agree with this. It would be assumed that most football junkies like myself would enjoy more regular season games, but I wouldn't. I like seeing good football and the stars on the field. I believe two more intense regular season games will increase injuries. There's all ready enough injuries during the season now no need for more. But that's just my opinion on the situation.

Negotiations are always like this.

Upshaw and Tagliabue were the exceptions.

There has been posturing on both sides.

Only a few people want a lock out.

The last deal the players supposedly had no aces up their sleeves or bargaining power.

The NFL is so much money expect the networks to put pressure on everyone to get the deal done.
