Rumors about Russ Grimm to be Next PANTHERS coach.

I don't. The likelihood of Luck staying there increases dramatically if Harbaugh stays.

Don't agree with that at all. If Luck has any sense at all, he will base when he comes out on where he will be drafted. And almost everyone says he is at the top of the list right now. Staying in college another year will not help his draft status and could hurt him if he is injured. Even Harbaugh himself said Luck is ready for the NFL.

Not saying I think we should take him, but for Luck, the time is now.

There are other factors. Luck has said he wants to finish his education, which is easier to do if you leave after your junior year as opposed to after your sophmore. Say he doesn't need the money a college education can bring all you want but it may not be about the money.

There's also the fact he wants to bring a championship to the Cardinals.

Finally, and perhaps the biggest reason, is the CBA looking less and less likely to be done by the time they need to declare - or even looking anything like it would be done... so why come out?

I agree he stands to make the most money coming out now, but there may be more at play than that.

Chris Paul said the same thing at Wake, about two weeks before he announced he was coming out after his sophomore season. :)

I would bet your paycheck that he is coming out this year. :D

That I did not know at all, cool.

Well, I feel a bit more confident now... :D

If he were projected as a mid first rounder, I think he'd be a lock to return to Stanford. But, in his current situation, he's the consensus #1 overall, and it's not close. Set financially or not, he'd be gambling tens of millions of dollars that he doesn't slide at all or that some other QB doesn't catch fire and bump him down. Or he could get hurt and lose all of it.

I also think too much is being made of the Harbaugh/Luck connection. They're not as tethered as it's made out.

Anyways, I'd be very surprised if he doesn't declare.

As for Grimm, I doubt it. Every media outlet close to the team is reporting that the team is leaning towards a young, energetic coordinator on the rise. MAYBE a college coach.

Grimm is an older guy who has been pretty stagnant in his coaching progression for a while now. No team has been willing to bump him to a coordinator position. He's mostly been responsible for the OLine and running game wherever he's gone and doesn't have a lot of positives to show for it.

He's kind of the antithesis of what we're supposedly looking for.
