I disagree. Grimm is an offense guy. Fox' offenses are so simple, it reminds me of what I did way back in middle school.

i don't see grimm being any more complicated. he's a meat and potatoes guy. he's vanilla ice cream without the little tiny pieces of vanilla bean in it.

You are talking about selling tickets, I am talking about making the playoffs and getting to the Superbowl. Selling more tickets excites Richardson, not me so much. A boring coach that wins is imo far more exciting than a exciting coach that loses (and will eventually sell more tickets).

Regarding personality, I never have understood that. Why would anyone other than the players, give a crap about the coaches personality? Before the Panthers were created, I was a Redskins fan, and I didn't even realize that Joe Gibbs had a personality. Nor did I care. IMO, Belichek comes off as an ass, but if he were our coach, I wouldn't care. That being said, I guess there are some who do care about that sort of thing. So perhaps personality will matter up until about the 6th game, but after that, personality is irrelevant. Wins are what matter.

And fwiw, I doubt what we see on TV is always their real personality. Its more of a public persona than anything. I doubt its what we see in the lockeroom. Well, maybe in a few cases it is, but for most of them, they are probably a totally different person in public.

i think we can get to a winning season pretty quickly, but i am setting myself up for this team taking a year or two before it can start reaching it's potential. there may be a little period of growth and growing pains. a good salesman coach will get the fans to start believing in the team before they start winning again, get them to latch on to the vision. that probably sounds a bit hokey, but it works and after this year, it's needed.
