Rumor Mill on ESPN says that Palmer could find a home here

it's conceivable that the Panthers could be in the mix

this should be the title of everything Shefty writes... include Mort in on that as well..

and for the record.. Palmer would be great to have for about 3 years while we groom our future QB, whether that be Clausen or a future pick.. even if we paid him a decent starting QB salary.. it's better than what we have now and it will be worth the cap hit for 3 years just to have a guy there to mentor an up and coming QB...

Vet minimum my ass.. shoot a little higher, he may not be the best QB in the league but he is a pretty good stop-gap for this moment in time..

To the national media, Palmer appears to be the John Fox of Qbs. I've seen so many people on tv talk about his skill, him being elite (Not as much lately). It's like It doesn't matter how horrible he plays, the sports media in general will not fully turn on him.

We wont pay Luck 50 million and then pay a veteran starting money. We may very well get one but it will be for 3-4 million a year not 10-12. So no Palmer isn't coming here unless he is the starter not a backup. And if we get a chance for Luck we won't be in the Palmer sweepstakes.

that's definitely true.. but with the new rookie cap, I'm hoping to see no rookie getting paid 50 mil.. (I guess that depends on when the new CBA is put in place. If that's not before the draft, I'm assuming there will be no rookie cap this draft year)

I guess Palmer would expect 10-12 mil a year.. but if he'll take 6-7, I would vote for it..
