Kevin Kolb

Marty Mornhinweg was one of the dumbest head coaches in the history of the NFL. The fact that he's not messing up while coordinating one of the most talented receiving corps in the NFL with former 1st overall pick throwing to them, does not override that.

Andy Reid is very capable of screwing up by himself :D (hes a really good coach, but he makes some dumbass moves sometimes, not as dumb as Moronweg though)

To defend my original post, here are a couple of things to remember...

If I am not mistaken, Philly was asking for 2 1st rounders earlier this season, however, doesn't mean that a team cannot negotiate and try to make it lesser and I really don't see Kolb being traded for two 1st. Further more, if we had a top 10 pick, I don't see why it wouldn't equal out if we throw in a future later pick or even a player.

The second argument is that Kolb is a West Coast player which doesn't equate success in other style offenses. While that may be true, I could, in return, argue that Luck is in a WCO himself so why would Luck be any better then Kolb when Kolb has NFL experience and we really don't know what we are getting in Luck?

and might I remind you all that just because a QB plays in the WCO doesn't mean he can't succeed in another offense (i.e. Jake Delhomme)

Sorry. I am physically incapable of coming to the conclusion that it's a better idea to go with a QB who is only proven in limited duty (albeit in the pro's) in a WCO who's asking price is two first rounders over a QB who's proven he can play at a very high level in the college game in a pro style offense whose asking price is one first rounder, especially with the second qb has a much higher ceiling.

VICK! Now we're talking... Kolb would fetch to high of a ransom for his unproven track record. It's got to be Luck. I'm torn on what to root for for when it comes to Clausen. Maybe if he plays well down the stretch his trade value will be higher but if he plays too well then we might consider going into next season with him as the starter.

On top of what they will want for him.

What QB has come from Philly and looked good on another team?

Reid has a very easy system for QB's. McNabb looks like poo, hell they have even made Vick look pretty dang good. Unless we are hiring Reid, I want none of his QB's.

I agree 100%.

luck is in a WCO...kind of. it's WCO in terminology only. the scheme is pretty different from most WCOs out there and isn't too far from the type of offense the guys we have are used to here.

this pretty much sums it up. kolb isn't too far off from matt moore, imo. if we're going to give up more than a first overall for a guy he'd better be the best QB in the league.

luck has more potential than kolb.

McNabb has some age, and I think that's his issue. Plus, he's on a Redskins team where his #1 WR has been inconsistent, Galloway is 50 years old, Cooley is always hurt, and haven't really had a running game all year?

Reid took Vick, and turned him into a complete passer. In case you forgot, this guy had one of the best games of a QB ALL time a few weeks ago.

I think Kolb is going to be a good QB wherever he lands. He's had good coaching. He may not fit our new system whatever that is, but if he DOES fit it, it's worth a look.

I don't really see us trading the #1 overall pick though and passing on a guy like Luck with all the hype. Especially when this team needs hype after this season.

I hear ya, and I would like to think the way that you think, but I don't.

I don't trust Vick as a passer, he may have had one of the best games of all time, but that does not change anything....yet. If he keeps it up, I will crown him, but not after one game, and especially not after the Chicago game last week.

Andy Reid has a system that caters to QB's, and IMO makes them seem better than they really are. Why do you think they have not missed a beat switching QB's?

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
