Something for the Marshall Haters to think about

At least Marshall, unlike Gamble, can tackle. He doesn't just flop himself towards the defenders feet.

Or maybe thats because Martin is becoming a great FS in the making. Marshall was getting beat like a drum last year and Godfrey did not help matters. Marshall has shown us his true colors this year with Martin in position on almost every play and Marshall barking at him when it was him that whiffed on the coverage.

Martin's play in no way points to Marshall being a bad corner. No, he hasn't had a great year. But if you'd like a list of every guy on our team who hasn't had a great year it'd include almost every starter, every veteran and every pro-bowler on the team. I don't understand how Marshall having a couple bad games this season means that he sucks, when we all still regard guys like Kalil, Gross, Smith, Stewart, Gamble, etc. as good players when they have also had bad games.

Richard Marshall has not played to the amount of money he's asking for.

I think he'll be gone next year, as I don't expect the checkbook to be opened up for somebody that is afraid to tackle skinny receivers out in the flat by himself.

He definitely did not deserve to be on that list.

A slight upgrade at DT is all that the defense needs.

Offense...that is another story.

We need a QB who can actually throw the ball downfield.

We need an infusion on the OLine...particularly at Guard...but depth is needed.

We need a #2 WR to step up....might have him in Gettis, but he still needs more seasoning.

Most of all, we need a new HC and OC that can actually be creative and move the ball.

:yesnod: and a really good thing is that all of this can be achieved in a relatively short amount of time with a new regime. This season may suck, but we really aren't that far off.

Really Im not looking at one season but at his body of work. His two years starting as the CB2 have been shaky at best. He is picked on by other teams because of his poor coverage. He is a very good nickle CB but not anything more. I had hoped he would develop but it seems he is not going to and wants millions to boot for that work. Yes he dose tackle well and he def is a ball hawk but coverage is more important.

Im not sure if Capt. is ready for the CB2 spot yet ether but I do know his coverage is better then Marshall's. If he would stay for a modest deal I would not have a problem but he is just not worth top money. He is just not as good as he thinks he is.

The style of offense we run dose not allow big plays. That in turn helps our Pass defense.

For the record they base this off Football Outsiders stats. Its not like they looked and the guy's stat sheet or watched one game.
