Puff Piece Provokes Pioli Paranoia?

PFT had an item describing an odd little event. A Kansas City newspaper sent a reporter out to new Chiefs GM Scott Pioli's hometown for a "puff piece" talking about where he came from, how he grew up, etc. Basic human interest stuff.

Upon hearing about it, Pioli called all the people he knew and instructed them not to talk about him :confused:

It ends with these lines.

Word comes from the people of his hometown, such as Washingtonville Central School District official Sue Cooney: “We are very protective of him. We can’t say much.”

Word comes through Chiefs officials: “Scott just doesn’t want to talk about himself right now. And he doesn’t want his family to talk. It would be better if a story about him could wait a few months.”

Regardless of whether he does a good job rebuilding the Chiefs, it's pretty clear that Chief detractors who used to refer to GM Carl Peterson as "King Carl" will likely find plenty of fodder with Pioli as well.
