>If Luck is so good, why isnt he gonna win the Heisman?

Come on now. Everyone knows that in order to win the Heisman, you have to be the best player on a team playing for the title. Seriously, has anyone won it without playing in the NC since say, 2000? I cant think of one.

Dont get me wrong, Cam is a GREAT collegiate player, but keep in mind hes also a GREAT cash cow for the SEC, the BCS, and the NCAA. Of course they want you to think hes the second coming... but none of that means a thing on the field in the NFL. Im not saying he wont have any success in the NFL, Im saying that recent history has shown that even the most illustrious collegiate resume does not necessarily translate into success in the NFL

Carson Palmer 2002, The Golden Calf of Bristol 2007 off the top of my head. But I agree with you for the most part the reason Luck has no shot to win the Heisman is because his team is 11-1.....

Luck isnt more proven. He's already lost to Oregon. Cam is 13-0 and is about to win the Heisman. The only case I hear being made for Luck is the scouts have him rated highly and he's the next Peyton. Dude hasnt even won a bowl game, and he's already being called the best QB prospect in years? I'm not sold. I just saw Cam dominate the SEC all season and put up perhaps the best QB performance ever in the SEC title game. I dont know what else a QB in his position can do to make the case that no one else is better. If Luck is so good, why isnt he gonna win the Heisman?

I think it's been proven throughout the years that the Heisman doesn't always go to the better pro prospect. See Jason White, Chris Weinke, Eric Crouch, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Troy Smith and The Golden Calf of Bristol just since 2000. There's countless others from previous decades. The Heisman isn't about who's going to be more successful in the NFL it's about who looks the best in the system they run.

I don't even see how people could debate who the better pro prospect is. In the NFL, scrambling around like he does is only going to get Cam Newton put on a stretcher. The defenders are bigger and faster then him. Even Michael Vick who was faster then everyone on the field had only moderate success until he learned how to throw the football accurately. In order to play QB in this league, and be successful, you have to be able to throw the ball accurately. Luck is much better at that then Cam is.....

Numerous "issues" is pretty vague. Show me the mugshot. The NCAA said Cam is clean as a whistle. Are you saying the Heisman committee doesnt value "character"?

I'm saying I don't believe word one out of anyone representing the 'AA. They are completely crooked. I believe that Cam Newton was arrested in 2008 for possession of stolen property (because he was). I believe that he was also on the verge of being expelled from Florida for academic violations and I believe there's no fuging way in hell his father shopped his LOI signature without his knowledge. Sorry but that all seems like pretty rationale thinking to me. The people who are saying they believe the NCAA when they say that Cam never knew of his dad asking for a six figure payment for Cam to sign are out to lunch. The kid even told an MSU recruiter he was signing with Auburn because "the money was too much...."

As for your mugshot....ask and you shall receive....

Does anyone think if Luck doesnt declare, that cam's stock could rise to that of being the number 1 pick?

There's no chance in hell I would take him with the number one pick. But I'm sure it would be talked about.....

Nice mugshot. Im glad to see Cam bounce back from that to become the best QB in the nation. Matt Schaub was arrested for assault in college. By your logic, he has character issues and shouldnt be a pro bowl qb. Its funny dudes have to go at Cams character because the qbs they like aint good enough to stand on their own merits. Luck aint played in a bowl game yet and u so sure hes Brady. Luck must be very overhyped if he still cant win it over this guy. Luck lost to Oregon, the best team hes faced.

Cam is gonna show u how a quarterback beats a top 5 team.

If a lockout really does happen come March, Cam and most other underclassmen would probably stay... Right?

no. why would they? if they stay they most likely will see their stock drop and will be part of a crowded draft class. plus they stand a greater chance of getting injured without getting paid.

doesn't matter if they don't play, they'll still have teams.

also, contracts won't get any better if they wait.

what's the incentive?
