Harbaugh / Luck Question #2

Mr. Scot

Coach it too. How about you??

Well I wouldn't be surprised if your team isnt good then, if all I have to go by is your statements. You want to put all the blame on Carolina for losing on a rookie QB. You look real smart by doing that

For me this has nothing to do with Jimmy Clausen, it's all about Luck. He's simply too good to pass up. I don't put much blame on Clausen at all for the offense this year; that blame goes to Fox & Davidson (mostly Fox) but - and I can't stress this enough - you cannot pass on a prospect like Andrew Luck if you're serious about being a long-term Super Bowl contender.

For me that's all there is to it. It's got nothing to do with Clausen; Luck is just THAT good. Rob Rang of CBS Sports called Luck the best prospect he's ever scouted:

“Luck is more than just the best quarterback — or best player — potentially available for the 2011 draft, however.

He’s the best quarterback AND elite prospect — including LaDainian Tomlinson, Steve Hutchinson, Calvin Johnson, Ndamukong Suh — I’ve scouted, including every Senior Bowl since 2001.”

Serious before you talk about other's people's intelligence you might want to take a long look at the man in the mirror. If you really think Clausen will be better than Luck, it is plain to see you don't have a clue. No one is blaming Clausen for all the losing, Einstein. There is plenty of blame to spread around.

Cmon now everyone who doesn't share Ohio's mancrush on Clausen is stupid and knows nothing about football. Ignore that everyone is saying the same thing about Luck.

Would you pass on Peyton Manning because you had Chad Henne?

Clausen still has the potential to be good, though he's got a better shot with a WCO team than with a team that runs a conventional offense.

But even Clausen at his potential best isn't equal to what Luck could be.

That's why they can't pass him up if they have the chance.

This x 1000. I don't think some of these anti-Luck folks really understand just how good he has the potential to be.

My perspective on Luck is that so many people on here are saying that he is too good to pass up... That may be true

However, let's not forget that he has never played a snap in the NFL so can really determine how good he can be based off of college stats?

I am not saying that we should pass up on Luck, I am just saying that people need to be careful what they wish for.

Obviously a no brainer to start Luck immediately. He is suppose to be the best raw talented QB to be drafted in the last 10 years.

And I'm sure a few teams would be willing to trade heavily for him, but if he truely is the next Manning or Brady then I wouldn't give him up for nothing... just image our team with a truely elite QB... awesomeness :)

Ignorance is bliss.....and Ohio is one happy motherfuger.

Ryan Leaf was supposed to be pretty good too.

Don't sell yourself too much on the idea, because that's exactly what it is: an idea. A lot of people are already posting as if Luck already declared for the draft and has a free pass to the SUPRAH BOWL on his persons.

I really don't Luck isn't entering the draft...I want to end this now.

If he's a smart as everyone says he is, he'll realize a college degree from Stanford means more than millions of dollars a year early. He'll finish his time at college, then still make his millions.
