It might seem like hyperbole, but this year's Barça squad may not only be one of the greatest teams in soccer history, but possibly one of the best teams in the history all of professional sport.

5-0 against Mourinho who's never lost a match in his career by more than 3 goals? And that's just cause Barça decided to turn it down a little and sit on the lead.

Sure they've got a way to go, but this afternoon's game shows how special this squad could be remembered.

Yea I am speechless at the talent of this team.

I was really impressed with Madrid during the champions league last week, but they were just absolutely shut down today.

However I would not be shocked in the slightest if things were the other way around when they meet up at the Santiago Bernabeau

Barcelona is almost a country of its own within Spain, because of this the club has a very family orientated feel to it. The players are all very close, as are the staff. Madrid are pretty much the opposite, everything is business and most of there players are mercenaries.

I saw Barcelona at the Camp Nou a few years ago when Ronaldhino was at his best and Messi had just broken into the team. Ronaldhino scored the goals but Messi was easily the best player on the pitch. Even then (at the age of 18 I reckon) you could tell he was something special.

Well, they basically have most of the best players from the best international team in the world, arguably the best forward from the World Cup, and unquestionably the best player in the world running their midfield.

They're doing it the right way though. Puyol, Pique(*), Xavi, Iniest etc...all came through there youth system. Even the likes of Messi were signed young and molded into a world class player, plus Fabregas is a product of the Barcelona youth set up and was signed by Arsenal.

*Pique played with Manchester United for a while but spent most of his youth career with Barcelona.

No doubt. It does help that they're going through the Golden Age of Spain right now as far as domestic talent, though. But that midfield is over-crowded enough as it is. Eventually Fabregas will be a Catalan, but he's needed more at Emirates than he is at the Nou Camp.
