Great thread guys. I'm only 20 and I remember some of this stuff. I really miss the 80's feel Charlotte and everything really. That said at least the town has developed some since then. I remember going to Discovery Place all the time. I loved the place. Also the annual Nut Cracker performance. When you're a little kid and you live outside of Mecklenburg County you think Charlotte is the hippest/coolest place OAT.

hell yes. I was gonna put this in here too! That's right at my parents neighborhood and A & P was where it was at when I was real young.

Remember when there was an Eckerds in there too? Then it was a Krispy Kreme. Now its some kids clothing store or something.

Yep. I grew up off Tilley Morris rd which is about 1.5 miles from 485 & Providence. When I was little that A&P was one of the closest grocery stores. Now my parents have about 8 HT's in a 5 mile radius.
