Mark Packer leaves WFNZ

Primetime with the Packman's last show was on Wednesday, contract was not renewed. No announcement yet as to who takes over his timeslot.

I liked some of his show and detested other parts (QCB & Whiner Line). The guys who are celebrating his departure should be careful until they find out what's going to take Packer's place. It really could be a lot worse.

Pick me! Pick me! :seeya:

I work cheap! And listeners won't have to put up with Da Bears, Cubbies or Giants! (I may lament of my Colties some times.)

But 99% of the time it will be:

1) Charlotte Sports

2) North Carolina Sports (Not UNC, but what's going on in the state.)

3) National Sports.

4) Anything else

I'll even have a babe from one of the "Gentlemen's Clubs" co-host on Fridays! :D

Bring back Gary Williams!!

Gary's got his own problems. First of all his show has become beyond boring even with the addition of Steve Phillips, who is terrible on the radio.

And he better hope Howard Stern renews his contract with Sirius or it's goodbye Satellite Radio.

Wasn't that great of a host. Kept caller on the air waaaay too long. Didn't get rid of QCB when his act got stale. And wasn't a good interviewer.

No one at WFNZ is a good interviewer! They break every rule I was ever taught on interviewing.

Listen!

Never ask an open ended question.

Never ask more than 1 question at a time.

Listen to the answer!

Never talk over the answer.

Never be a "knob polisher" to the person you are interviewing.

There are 12 DON'TS during an interview, and they all break at least 10 of them trying to be funny!

You never saw David Frost crack jokes when he was interviewing Nixon!

I just hope they replace him with someone local. I moved to Raleigh last year and there is only one decent local host here in the morning and the rest of the day is all ESPN radio until Pack at 3. I would stream the WFNZ during the day it's so bad. I was reading on the Observer comments and they're all for a national syndicated guy which is the exact opposite of why I liked WFNZ.
