Steve Johnson Blames God for his own Incompetence

No one was making fun of religion. Everyone is open to their own opinion. I simply warned him that CatsGrowl doesn't like when you go against his religious beliefs and you will probably get neg repped.

Not at all.

I'll only neg you if you go off bashing and insulting what I believe.

That's not funny to me, and if it's funny to you, then I'd suggest you try talking to Matt about it. He might get a kick out of it.

That's not funny to me, and if it's funny to you, I'd suggest moving to France or something, where religous jokes are typically good with the locals.

You need to lighten up a bit man. If you don't want your religious beliefs bashed on a football message board then don't bring them on to a football message board.

I changed it :D

Anyways, I keep my religious beliefs in the Tinderbox.

Additionally, I have a right to say whatever I feel like, assuming I don't infringe on yours.

I'm betting money that I said nothing hurtful, and you simply went on a tirade to "bash the goofy christian for his silly beliefs" to stroke your e-penis just a little bit more.

You weren't really in the past conversation and just jumped in but it's not a big deal. My feelings aren't hurt. I didn't mean to offend anything you believe and I'm not trying to offend anything you believe. To each his own.

On a side note, I'm confused you have the right to say anything but I/we don't. In honor of this thread, "Why so serious?"

I never said that. I said i have a right to be open about my beliefs, as do you, but nobody has the right to bash others about theirs. It's just not cool.

Everyone had posted their opinion on the Steve Johnson situation, and as long as the beliefs being posted lined up with yours, you had no problem, but as soon as a Christian made a comment on the situation, you felt the need to jump in and start slinging insults. No need for that. It's big egos that have made this country the hate-filled, sexist, racist, prejudice place it is (keep in mind I love this country to death)

It's a shame that we need a terrorist attack to unite us. It's big ego's that keep anything from being done in Congress. Ever. When our founding fathers came over they all had separate beliefs, whether it was deism, methodist, quaker, or so on, but it didn't come between them.

And one more thing that I kinda feel like I should say.

Keep in mind that there are 2 different endings to the story for athiesm and christianity. Don't get mad when people try to minister to you. Nobody wants to force religion down your throat, but we do believe that there are only two destinations after you die, and for people to take their own time to go out, simply because they don't want anybody to end up in "the 2nd destination" seems more like an act of love to me, rather an act of malicious intent. I don't agree with the whole "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" sermon, because I don't believe that's what society needs today. So if you see a minister condemning you to hell, chances are you should just ignore him, but if you see a group of people handing out cards or water or whatever-don't be a dick. Or even think dick thoughts. They just wanna help you out, even if you believe it's a futile effort or not.

Sorry I rambled.

First off you don't know what I believe so take a deep breath and relax.

This thread was mostly humorous but for whatever reason you decided you had to interject and put everyone in their place and tell them we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for God. Someone else commented and threw in evolution. I did neither and just made a joke about something that happened in the past, neither condemning religion or atheists, just making a joke.

I appreciate you preaching to me. I'm glad you care. I have no problem with what you do with your free time, but don't tell me how to think, or what thoughts I can think when I see you.

I don't know anything about your past and you don't know anything about mine. For all you know, I could have went to a religious university for 4 years then decided to get my Masters from a different religious university and taken numerous classes on almost every religion out there and read the Bible more times than I can remember. I could have decided to live in a monastery right out of High School for multiple years before I decided it wasn't for me but still believe in certain things. Hint, one of those things is true.

Just because I don't spout off my beliefs on a football message board doesn't mean I'm any less holy than you. You need to get off your high horse and stop taking life too serious. God has a sense of humor. It's okay to laugh a little.

I'm done with this convo.

Funny, I never told anyone that they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for God.

It would seem like your putting words in my mouth. I gave my opinion on the subject as everyone else did, the only reason you find it to be offensive is because your ego is obviously so incredibly high that the thought of someone thinking differently than you do irks you.

Noone else felt the need to intervene and "put me in my place"

If you didn't like what I had to say, then you simply should've ignored it. It didn't slander any of your beliefs in the slightest, if it had, then I could understand you feeling the need to say something. And thanks for making this conversation way more serious and less civil than it should've been.

"You need to get off your high horse"

After you, mate..

That is what I meant when I said here. You said he wouldn't have been an NFL player if it weren't for God. You brought religion in. Please leave it out from now on or in the Tinderbox :)

Oh, so you mean posts like this?

Quite a ridiculous tweet and also believing God has influence on the world currently is moronic.

or this?

If there was anyone who needed to blame God it's The Golden Calf of Bristol. All he did was praise Him 24/7 as well and The Golden Calf of Bristol gets drafted in Round 1 (for 3 picks, no less) only to find out he throws like a girl and can't start in the NFL.

or how about this?

The Denver Broncos are certainly asking the question why hasn't God fixed all The Golden Calf of Bristol's problems and make him a starting caliber QB in the mold of one Steve Young

Shall I continue?

The fact of the matter is, is that I have a right give my opinion on the situation. And as long as I'm not slandering others for there's, there is nothing you can say to me.

It doesn't matter if you agree at all, your opinion is that worthless in the grand scheme of things. By telling to give up my Constitutional right just so it doesn't "offend" you puts you in an infringement of my rights..

I'd suggest you come down of your little throne if you want to start being taken seriously.

I'm sick of you forcing your atheistic beliefs down my throat.

sound familiar?

I like to poke christians often when they go on their rants.. but back to the original topic..

the kid is young and deals with more stress than any of us could ever imagine.. how many of us have to execute on the spot? There have been times where I questioned god and was furious saying the same crazy poo as this dude.. (my version of god that is.. ;))

I don't really think it's that crazy for him.. alot of us just like to stand on soap boxes and always look at things out of context..
