We're not forced to do anything. But, maybe I'm missing your point because there can't be but so many 25 yr. old's in the draft.

Did Lewis get a big raise? I was thinking he was making good money when he signed as a FA and when he re-signed last offseason it was just a marginal increase in pay.

I would think he got backup money when he signed in FA. He could now be making starter money with the extension last year though.

DT Peria Jerry is 25..and the number 2 DT in the draft.if we get a firt rounder i see him falling to us..i hope not but b.j will be out of are reach

So now we are going to need another starting caliber DB because CJ Wilson is not the answer at Nickelback. I just can't see that happening with a guy who has average at best athleticism for the NFL

AND..we are going to need a starting caliber DT because 4-5 months off for Damione Lewis with a surgically repaired shoulder does not spell success.

I don't remember how much his extension was.

The hit would be 3.17 mill and we would save 4.05 mill. So we would save less then a mill cutting him.

I said even before this I'd prefer a Jenkins style "every down" tackle on one side and a return to Kemo and Lewis rotating on the other. This makes it more likely that could happen.

Kemo dose his job well. He eats up space and lets the LBs run free. Im not so sure if Lewis dose his job as well. I would like to see a ever down DT as well and Im sure we will be looking in FA.
