Hindsight is 20/20, isn't it? If he had seven sacks this season you'd all be whacking off about the trade. There was no way for anyone to know at the time that he wouldn't produce. We drafted him where about where he was ranked by most draft sources. Given the fact that Peppers' future with the team was obviously in question and we would need pass rush help, it wasn't a terrible move. And considering we also got a great RB in Goodson in the trade, it was actually pretty good.

By the way, it's STILL too early to label Brown a bust. Johnson has taken several seasons to emerge but now everyone is slobbing his knob. Let's see what Brown can do when we get some decent DT talent in here next season.

I thought I read something around the time of the draft about him not being laterally quick enough to play OLB in a 3-4 defense.

Yeah, I don't want to rehash how stupid the move was. Hurney made that bed, and now the panthers have to lay in it.

I'm just wondering if he holds any value whatsoever. Watching him attempt to get a pass rush is painful. He is swallowed up by almost every offensive tackle

Brown and Hardy have pretty much the same stats.....Brown is expendable.....Brayton is too with under 15 tackles this season.

Our DT situation means that our DE's are going to look bad because the QB can easily step up into the pocket to avoid a sack. There were a few times this year where Ev would have gotten a sack but the QB just moved up in the pocket. Also, it's still way too early to call anyone a bust, especially based on the poor level of coaching done this year.

He was never 1st round talent because he never had any power moves, all he's got is the same ol spin around the corner bs and that only works when the tackle has to worry about the inside lane which with everette they dont have to
