Honestly though...Cap'n is the only bright spot in the secondary, although Marshall made some nice plays today as well. But Marshalls bad plays overshadow his good plays.

If Munnerlyn starts, he'll turn into what Marshall is today. A CB that isn't good enough to start but good in the nickel. Then we'll all hate him for it.

i don't see him being anything more than a nickelback. he can fill in when necessary and he does have good cover skills, but his size is a huge liability. he simply can't wrestle down those bigger running backs or receivers (or outjump them for a ball.)

Hmm. I wouldn't call him bad at all. He isn't great by any stretch, but he fits well where he is.

Captain isn't bad. Captain's size sometimes becomes an issue. He plays tighter coverage than any CB on our roster.

He def is better then Marshall was at this point. Marshall was never good at coverage but made up for it with good tackling and ball skills. Capt. is a all round CB that may be a bit too short. Im not sold on that he cant be a CB2 though and lets face it Revis is considered one of the best CBs in the league and he is only 5'11

Guys, Captain doesn't play nickel. In nickel formations Gamble and Captain are the outside corners with Marshall sliding into the nickel position inside.

To say Captain is a 'great' nickel cornerback is a touch misguided, due to him not playing there. However I would agree he is a very good 'part-time' player.

If I'm Marty Hurney, I only let Marshall walk if I can't re-sign him cheap. I would NOT give him a big deal, because he does not deserve one. for that reason, id say hes gone after the season.
