Coaching Predictions / Choices

If JR follows his trend, its be an overrated retread like cowher.

hopefully he doesnt.

Not sure where you get that.

Jerry hired a retread one time, and it didn't go well.

He's hired two upcoming DCs and those were the better hires.

The trend definitely doesn't favor Cowher.

Also, we need a coach with age and experience. Whether that be a former player in Harbaugh, or a proven winner in Cowher or Grimm.

Most of our players right now lack fundamental discipline (see the angles Charles Godfrey takes on tackles, as well as Marshal's constant stupid penalties). I believe this to be a combination of a couple things: Fox's coaching style as well as the palyers youth.

Kevin Gilbride, Jim Harbaugh, Ron Meeks, Mike Mularkey, Russ Grimm, and Rob Ryan may get interviews IMO

Harbaugh should be the coach...at least that's who I would like to see us hire

Kevin Gilbride will get hired by Hurney to be our next coach, I think he has learned a lot since being the HC in SD and his work with Eli as a rookie gives him an edge

He also has a Steeler connection

Should be a guy who has a lot of fire and passion, and who the players like. Despite what people say about him, Fox's players always have respected him and liked him, he is far from the Brad Childress. With a diva like Steve Smith and coming off an awful season, the next coach better possess this quality.

I feel that it will either be Harbaugh, Mcdermont, Grimm, Rivera, or Leslie Frazier (if available). It will be interesting to see how our draft position affects potential coaches decisions. ie will Harbaugh only come if he is guaranteed the ability to draft Luck or does that matter to him?

tough to say anything definite at this point, but I am pretty certain and am very happy that Cowher will not be the coach. Why? JR has proven if anything this season he doesn't hold the average fans demands at a very high priority. Cowher is a popular choice because people see that he won a Superbowl in the last couple years, despite not winning one ever before that, and the slightly more educated fan may point to JR's ties with the Steelers. However, this team needs a fresh face to go along with this youth movement we are tied to, and the Steelers did the same thing with Mike Tomlin. Raheem Morris' success is just another reason why the next coach will be an up and coming face, not a retread.

At the end of the day, I want Grimm, McDermont, or Rivera.
