None of Clausens mistakes have had to do with throwing motion. All his mistakes have been mental. This throwing motion argument is retarded. The getting passes batted down is because he isn't used to throwing over an NFL line not his motion.

his throwing motion is why he had so many passes batted down or go directly into defenders. that isn't mental. The ball comes out lower than some other QBs of comparable size.....the slow wind up also telegraphs his throws and aids the defense.

There is a big difference in making rookie mistakes and looking like you have no business being under center. Unfortunately, Clauseb looks more like the latter.

If the Panthers are willing to pass on one of the best QB prospects in years because they took a flier on a late 2nd round QB...(Hat damn near every other team passed on twice, they don't deserve to be a winning franchise.

That is all.

all of which almost all rookie QBs struggle with when they first enter the league...especially without a strong supporting cast.

Clausen has a better supporting cast than Bradford or McCoy. Regardless of who is playing QB in Carolina....the offensive problems start there. QBs haven't made consistant plays and is has allowed defenses to overload the OL.

meh, the playcalling for the Rams and the Browns eclipses ours, and both of their running games were much better than ours... they may not have as big of names as we have but I think they are pretty damn strong position by position, at least the Browns. Goodson is picking it up though so no more excuses on that front. Clausen has to start getting stuff done at this point in the season

no he doesn't.

mccoy and bradford have better rushing attacks to fall on, better olines to play behind and more consistent recievers.

carolina's supporting cast is what made moore look good last season...and melt down this season.

this is a load of crap.

lame duck coach. outdated system. tons of injuries. zero running game production (with moore under center let along clausen).

you guys thinking you've seen enough of clausen on the worst team in football are classic arm-chair scouts.

none of the pro scouts had a big problem with clausen's throwing motion entering the draft because there is no big problem. sure he got a few balls batted down but as someone who has played the position i can tell you that has 99% to do with ball placement and awareness of the location of taller more athletic NFl lineman and not throwing motion. it's funny to me that clausen got bashed for throwing a pic to peppers earlier in the season but no one said a word when bradford did the same thing on the same day to Suh. no one accused him of being "short". similarly, no one accuses mccoy of being "short" even though he's had a bunch of balls batted down as anyone with NFL sunday ticket can attest.

these balls get batted down because of positioning and pocket awareness. i would expect to hear more about clausen's longer throwing motion on the two slants he's had picked off this season.

no, what's happening in carolina is that the panthers are not winning games. when your favorite team is losing, most of us become excellent assessors of rookie quarterbacks and thier throwing motions.

the best thing that clausen can do to correct his throwing is to start winning games.

he can't do it alone, but i'm exciting to see more improvement.

yes he does.....and by a good margin. He clearly has a better supporting cast. the other teams are playing better football w/ less overall talent. it isn't all better playcalling and coaching. To a degree it definately is as Fox is horrible. That doesn't give Moore and Clausen a free pass.

Moore's supporting case was just as strong last year as this season.

teams sold out on the stopping the run most of the season and simply were giving us plays in the passing game. QBs simply couldn't take advantage of it.

our record is embarassing when looking at the talent and supporting cast our QBs have had on offense.

Injury wasn't that big of an issue early....only lately.

Fox has been doing the same predictable crap for YEARS. It definately holds us back......that doesn't hold us back to being a 1 win team. No excuse for having 1 win. Offense is our issue. QB play is by far the biggest issue and bad QB play has effected the entire offense and what defenses have been allowed to get away with. QB play can make a night and day difference and we have seen that multiple years in Carolina(07 and 09).

How many pro scouts do you know? I know Mel Kiper didn't have a problem w/ it. But the fact Clausen fell to us and teams past on him multiple times despite the media hype proves teams were concerned about him.

bottom line is you could have put in an a decent QB into this lineup and they easily would have more wins. Cincy, Chicago, NYG, etc........as bad as Fox and his staff are (and they deserve tons of blame). The players still have to play and they have done a horrible job at the QB spot.

Pocket positioning can help....his throwing motion regardless has the ball coming out lower than other QBs his height.

the good ones show promise. flashes of brilliance

especially at the end of their first season.

Claüsen is on notice. His career is nearing an end in 6-5-4-3-2-.......

I was excited when the Panthers drafted Clausen, definately glad though they didnt trade up to get him. For me the jury is still out on him. This season is way to hard to get a good idea. As many have said, we have a lame duck coach, horrible play calling, oline not performing at its best, etc, and a coaching staff that has never developed a QB.

That all being said, if Luck comes out, the Panthers have the #1 pick and this kid is all everybody is saying he is then they have to take him. They Panthers can then bring in a Veteran, let Luck and Clausen fight it out for #2 and then either eventually fight it out for #1 and/or trade one. Not a bad situation to be in.
