a lot of the people who started the heat are the ones who aren't here anymore. apparently unless the forum is policed for the greater good of positivity, no matter how appropriate or not, those people won't come back. Some people just don't understand why people like me don't fluff up the team to be so great after a 30 point loss. I don't know, could be i'm just trying to be honest.

oh, and for the OP, it was a combination of what i stated above and this thread

Yeah, that Gregp701 was a real firebrand. So was Fireball77, and who hasn't withered under the attack of Monkeybutt? Mintal is still around, but I know I'm relieved that I don't have to suffer his abuse in the football forum. Ditto for Scrum, he posts in here once in a blue moon. The list goes on, too (and I was being sarcastic if you didn't know--those posters were some of the nicest people you could meet). People didn't start the heat and leave, new folks came in, brought heat, and drove off the people that made it interesting in the first place. Then they got bored and left.

also like to point out that not religiously logging in day in and day out or not posting in a forum where there are only about 7,000 registered fans only most and not all of which are fans of the panthers doesn't mean they aren't watching the games and have sold their jerseys

i was looking at a few threads from this offseason, and from the 2009 regular season, and recognized a whole lot of big name posters that have mysteriously disappearance.

amazing how a poo season sifts all the bandwagoners out of a fanbase... any bets on how many of these guys quietly return when we sign our first major free agent in the spring?

I've been on and off the board for about 2 years now. I'm at every tailgate. and I know a good handful of people that are in thr same majority.

So we don't post on the threads much anymore.

Big deal. Still here... still a fan... Move'n one.

Have a good time thinking all the "big name" posters are gone.

We're just sitting back and watching the fire storm. :P

i think you forgot the part where the team started to not win games, which just happened right before all this alleged "intelligent debate" stopped. I survived all them new folks coming in and bringing heat because i'm not so new. Or maybe that isn't so true after all

and as far as i'm concerned i never had a problem with F77 or Greg. I respected them, because they respected me. I only retaliated after Mintal's continual harassment on me over being too negative, and P55's passive aggressive digs he likes to put in after he's been debating with one other person in a thread for 15 pages. Ok those are two vets i guess you could say who bring/brought some heat. Monkeybutt, I don't remember why she left, but i don't remember anybody attacking her unless you've got irrefutable proof of that. J-Vic was another volatile poster who isn't here anymore if you want to keep score good buddy.

If you keep posting stupid sh**, you keep getting flamed. If you can't handle getting flamed, stop posting stupid sh**. I think what happened was even after the Arizona loss and Jakes extension, alot of posters were flaming those upset about those events because they weren't being positive. Then the flaming kept going back and forth which got bigger and ignited into a forrest fire once the season started and Jake crapped the bed. People were still on Jake's jock and were getting upset at those who weren't up his butt. Some posters who mostly were logical got caught up in the crossfire from time to time. In the end we're left with charcoal bodies and runaways that took shelter elsewhere.
